Bon Jovi Concert-Should I take a sign?

Last edited Sat Aug 8, 2015, 11:33 AM - Edit history (2)

No, this isn't a troll post.

I am a Sanders supporter. Jon Bon Jovi supports Hillary Clinton. I will be seeing Bon Jovi in a month and a half here in Seoul Korea.

I am seriously thinking about taking a sign with me. I don't know if I'll be close enough for him to see it.

Any suggestions?

I was thinking "I support Bernie Sanders, why don't you?"

Edit: If you are a Hillary Clinton supporter I won't count your vote.

Most candidates don't bother asking. I would bet Trump didn't ask the artist who's song he played (can't remember who it is) if he could. I'll give Christie that much it was the right thing to do and Bon Jovi was gracious in saying yes.

No sense in your being unable to focus solely on the concert with a clear conscience if the lighting, etc. makes your sign impossible to see from the stage. You could also bring a note and ask someone to get it to him? That might not work, either, but it can't hurt.

What is your objective, though? If it is to get him to switch his endorsement, I don't see that happening because of a sign or a note--unless your note mentions a few specifics.

Here's my personal list of top 4 objections to Hillary: http://www.democraticunderground.com/12777603

Even then, who knows? Some Democrats far prefer Bernie, but are going with Hillary anyway, solely on the assumption that she is more electable in the general. I think the opposite may well be so and did change the mind of a friend who expressed that objection to me. (Currently working on the same objection from a relative whom I adore). However, that is a bigger issue and you have to have the info at your fingertips and someone with an open mind.

Whatever you decide to do, have fun and don't look back in regret. That is my sincerest serious advice.

I just want to razz him a little. He's supported Clinton both in 08' and this time around and it appears he wasn't willing to consider another candidate, it was her by default. I find it a little disappointing.

I might for fun give the sign to security toward the end of the concert and scratch my phone number on there and tell him to call me if he has any questions. LOL

I have had my view blocked by sign holders in sub sections like that. Performers don't see it and everyone they are blocking is pissed and muttering idiot. But that is just my experience.

a Paul McCartney concert on my birthday - I thought OMG it'll be MY BIRTHDAY! I wondered - should I bring a sign saying IT'S MY BIRTHDAY in hopes of -? he'd bring me on stage? I would DIE. Then, the logistics - I'd have to purchase a much pricier ticket so I'd be on the floor. I had done that before and didn't want to spend that much $$ now. Also, I'd have to hold the sign the whole night and I'd be pissing off the people behind me. Maybe I'm just getting old but - I didn't bring the sign.

I have 5 weeks to get one. Got to send some money and have one mailed to me. The campaigns generally will not mail stuff to us overseas. We are SOL when it comes to campaign stuff. It maybe that someone supporting Sanders from Korea goes and buys a crap load of it and brings it back and sells it here too. I was able to get some stuff for the 08' campaign.

I'm thinking both the sign and the shirt though...

after all--try redbubble. FWIW, their Sanders' stuff is where the late, great DUer, Jackpine Radical, got his image for his
