Plus, a fair portion of US voters don't even remember who Mao was and a fair portion of those who do and care wouldn't vote for Sanders anyway. So, you should really try another 8 track because that one just doesn't play anymore.

I am done with MSM. They are paid for hire publicists for the Oligarchy. They are hand in hand with those who would oppress the people. Bread and circuses. Time to be the media. The people's media - that is what we are. Thanks to DU and Facebook we can actually have honest reporting of what is happening to our once great society.

of why they took away his show is pretty clear. His show was then rated second highest on a network that was, and still is, desperate for ratings.

They are an "establishment" network and they are going to support the DNC's anointed.

It will be interesting to see them flapping around about top secret emails.

Today one person had on a guy who insisted that Bernie Sanders was just exactly like Donald Trump - did you miss the resemblance.
One way was his hatred of immigrants - because he wanted to stop jobs being sent overseas???? non-sequitor to me. And his mysogyny.

today in the video forum someone posted a link to Robert Reich talking about Socialism for Dummies. It's one of his monthly talks, and it's followed up by a part two from the next month (I posted that video) and they are both excellent. He explains how Feudalism turned into capitalism, and how Marx wanted to come up with a system that gave people equality, because neither feudalism or capitalism did that, and he came up with socialism. The Russia was taken over by a group of socialists who never got around to turning Russia into a socialist country...instead they just kept it as a government controlled state and renamed it communism (they split from socialism). Now everyone thinks that communism and socialism are the same thing, when in fact communism is a state form of capitalism. My explanation is really brief (and there is so much info in those two videos, there is no way to capture it all in a synopsis).

He's really very good and spells it out so well, even though both videos are about two hours long, I really think it's in our best interest for everyone who can to watch them, and then maybe we will be better armed to try to teach people the difference between socialism and communism and state capitalism (like Russia). Someone needs to inform Chris Matthews of this, and even Thom Hartmann made it sound a little confusing by saying Bernie's kind of socialism, as if communism is just another kind of socialism...it isn't. So maybe I'll send those youtube links to Thom too.

Here is the link to the video thread.

What is the difference between communism and socialism is a whole other conversation and it has nothing to do with Bernie. That discussion is only going to confuse people and maybe turn them off Bernie.

In the video posted on this thread, notice that the interviewer begins by asking Bernie if Bernie is a socialist and Bernie immediately corrects him by saying "Democratic Socialist."

As to Bernie, the relevant question is "What is the difference between a Democratic Socialist and other Democrats?" This thread contains a lot of info on that subject.

Highlights: Democratic Socialist are a movement, not a party. They work within capitalism and within the Democratic Party. The New Deal and the Great Society were Democratic Socialist programs. Specific examples are Social Security and Medicare.

I don't know what Reich was going on about, but it has nothing to do with Bernie. Study this thread and the links. There is good info on this site. (On the thread I did about Democratic Socialism, one of the founders of the Democratic Socialist movement in the USA posted and approved the OP.)

if you haven't yet, check out his podcasts at wegoted.com. he said today that he has almost as many people now turning into the podcast is he had on the cable show. So no skin off his nose really. And what's great about it, is that he can be completely unhinged and say whatever the hell he wants because he's not answering to anybody. It is great to hear him really let loose and he is all in for Bernie. In fact he said today that he might be introducing him at some events coming up, I'm guessing maybe when Bernie goes to the Midwest because I think that's where ed is.

I had no doubts as I watched him in the 1990s. He is a snake in the grass, an insider operative. He has not a single shred of objectivity. He fucking stinks to high heaven. He is not worthy of one moment of your time.

Boycott MSNBC!

Why watch it when you know every word is filtered through the corporate filter? Of course they will throw you the occasional liberal bone. But that is only a tool to suck you in while they manipulate your mind.
