I came across that poll while searching for something else, so I'm just not familiar with it. Or even the Iowa primary process in general.
I've never been fired up enough about a candidate in the past to follow the Iowa primaries this closely. I'm kind of embarrassed to ask this, but... is this THE Iowa straw poll, or just a random fun Iowa poll? I realize that I should know, and have even googled, but am having no luck.
I fully understand your skepticism considering the fact that there are some here on DU w/Bernie avatars who do nothing but criticize him. I can assure you that I am not one of them.
I'm thrilled with how well he is doing in NH, and hope that the Iowa State Fair poll is a good indication of his official numbers there. He's nearly 51% to Hillary's 42% the last time I checked.

(3,186 posts)It can get ugly in there fast.
I've been lucky so far (probably because I rarely venture there). But I've seen things happen to others in GD-P for 'offenses' that are not at all clear.

(3,186 posts)You are another one of my favorite posters here.
Lots of wonderful people in this group, actually. But it makes perfect sense. We have an amazing candidate that we can all be proud of! He's got the kind of vibe that naturally draws good people to him.

(45,251 posts)We have manny and sabrina and we had woomewithscience until she got tired of being hounded. Ditto WillPitt. Those are all some of my favorite posters.

(3,186 posts)Damn. I hope she comes back.
I tend to read DU much more than I post, so I don't recall ever interacting with her (?)... (I think woo is a 'her'). But I always liked what she had to say. Love Sabrina too!

(45,251 posts)I hope with all my heart that she only got fed up. I hope she is well and happy.

(44,124 posts)At the fair you get a kernel of corn to put in a jar to vote. Straw Poll/Ames is organized by Republicans (so only covers Republican candidates)
I am in Iowa. Dem caucus goers are in general pretty liberal, so Bernie will do very well here I think.

(3,186 posts)Omaha Steve has a thread in LBN about Bernie's crowds in your state and how he continues to keep drawing them in. People everywhere are really taking to him!
Thanks for the info!

(3,186 posts)I'm not the most articulate writer... posts of mine often don't come out sounding as I intended. Plus, I too mix people up. It happens to all of us I think.

(45,251 posts)Quite often, that will tell you whether that poster supports Hillary or Bernie.
If you can't tell, search O'Malley, but his posters don't play games.
NYC_Skp helped me out with that tip when we were co-hosting at the same time..
I think PotatoChip was just afraid of getting too excited at an early stage.
