He's ahead in the polls as his campaign grows in the early voting state
A drab office squeezed between a pawn shop and a dance studio in small-town New Hampshire seems an unlikely place to begin a political revolution, but for Bernie Sanders, a strip mall that had seen better days worked just fine.
Welcome, all, to the political revolution, Sanders said to a crowd of more than 100 people baking in the summer sun near Concord on Monday. You all know New Hampshire plays a unique role in the American political process. Were going to do well in Iowa, and if we do well here in New Hampshirebetween you and methey aint gonna stop us.
It was the grand opening of the Bernie Sanders campaign office in Concord, the capital of a state that could decide the fate of Sanders presidential campaign. As part of the campaigns rapid expansion in New Hampshire, Sanders had come here to say his movements goalssuch as universal healthcare, a $15 minimum wage and paid sick leavewere attainable.
Im not advocating for pie in the sky, Sanders said.
There was cake, however. The next day was the upstart Democratic candidates birthday, and the crowd surprised him with a birthday cake and a round of Happy Birthday to You. Im cutting the first slice here, Sanders said to cheers

(5,069 posts)after Sanders visit to Keene on June 6, I started a f/b group....Group, with some ups and downs, now has almost 90 members and requests coming in from Rhode Island to physically help us out with the campaign. As yet, though, we have no jobs, per se - enthusiasm out-paces infrastructure. The downtown Keene campaign office is still getting furniture but has yet to open. Spent 3 1/2 hours over Sat-Sun campaigning at the Art in the Park - signed about half-a-dozen more volunteers up and passed out flyers. Every Tuesday we have phone banking which is where I'm off to now.
