(62,325 posts)Democrat. Would love to see her in Bernie's administration in some capacity, VP maybe, then eight years in the WH herself.
However, I doubt she will endorse him openly. Both of them voted against the Iraq War and the Patriot Act. Always remembered her courage at that time.

(62,325 posts)Dems in Congress, it seems they are expected to endorse the presumed nominee. So far, none have come out and endorsed Bernie.
That might change of course as HE becomes 'inevitable'. A lot are probably waiting to see what happens.
I could be wrong about Lee, but she would be going against the party at this point, so maybe she won't endorse anyone just yet.

(41,145 posts)Progressive Caucus Bernie founded. In June I posted a significant if brief interview of Lee by Buzzfeed where she said it was good Bernie was out there speaking his message. Lee is a longtime forceful fighter for people, social justice & the environment. A major asset for the Dems. I'd also like to see her in Bernie's cabinet or VP. What a boon for this country.
It's concerning that more leaders like Keith Ellison, John Conyers, Barbara Lee, John Lewis and Elijah Cummings who have worked with Bernie for years, haven't been more visible in supporting his work and campaign. In time I hope that changes. It's understandable how standing in the system makes people discerning about open support and endorsements, to a point.
Another desirable legislator is Rep. DONNA EDWARDS (D-MD) who'd be very valuable in Sanders campaign or administration.
(Donna was on Bill Maher a week ago, and he kept saying 'Barney Frank' (3 times!) in his brief discussion of BLM encounters with Bernie earlier and HRC more recently. No one caught the 'Barney Frank' (?!) error which I hope wasn't intentional by Maher).
There's also powerhouse Eliz. WARREN, what a VP ticket that would be! Though a loss for the Senate I think those two would be an invincible team. Both from the same region was discounted with Clinton and Gore. In these critical times it's an all out effort!
And *when will Warren announce her endorsement?
