Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumI posted a thread about anti-Semitism in GD P.
For those who don't want to wade through the muck here's the link:
Dog Whistles- an Anti-Semitism Primer (a timely repost)
A good read and I think we're going to need to stand up to this kind of attack more often as the primaries progress.
If you see a post about Bernie or any other Jewish politician that needs to be alerted on include the link, it may help get some of them hidden.

(130,974 posts)It's almost painful to read for this NYC(Brooklyn) Jew; born there, living elsewhere now, but I hear Bernie's voice and accent instantly, and appreciate his approach.
I'm for O'Malley #1, Bernie #2, fwiw.
Further, fn,
'Jews are a practical people. They deal with this world not the next. They are an argumentative people. They know that truth may be a matter of disputation, or may be arrived at only through disputation. They tend to accept that being Jewish, one may have to be Jew-ish at times, fall a little short, be a little approximate. . .
Maimonides: We have freed ourselves of our previous deeds, have cast them behind our backs, and removed them from us as far as possible.'

(57,349 posts)It's not just Bernie, he's only the latest Jewish politician to be accused of being disloyal to America.
It got so bad during the days when the Iran deal was front and center I stopped alerting.

How's your girl?

(57,349 posts)But imagine a ballet where two horses slowly circle each other, face off, rear up and then run away like they're having the time of their lives, kicking and bucking and snorting.
It's amazing to watch.

(57,349 posts)I actually don't mind the smell of horse farts/manure, it's a familiar smell, very comforting.
And after dealing with a colicky horse all night a fart is definitely music to your ears.

(3,580 posts)I miss them dearly. I had horses in my yard for 35 years and had to find homes for 2 of them and put the last old girl down last year. I could no longer care for them properly due to health issues and I'm going to lose my farm. I saw it coming and didn't want to wait for a crisis when good homes came along.
My horse buddies are wonderful though. My neighbor let's me play with hers and she has an old saint of a pony that enjoys a leisurely trail walk that I have free access to. This sounds terrible but losing my horses and goats was worse than my husband dying.

(57,349 posts)I am so sorry you're losing your farm and lost your beloved horses. It was courageous of you to let them go to good homes instead of waiting and having to risk sending them to someone who wouldn't take care of them.
I wish I could say something to make you feel better but I know how meaningless words are at times like this.
Just know I'll be thinking of you and if you ever need to talk I'm here.
Take care of yourself.

(3,580 posts)I have a kinda philosophy that says why do people think nothing changes. Change has actually always worked our for me in ways I could never imagine. Doors close and open. This untethering from this land I've loved is pointing me in directions of spiritual growth I would not have contemplated. It's amazing really.

(6,476 posts)Mine is full of talk about my being late, or not enough juicy grass or burrs in her coat...one time when I had them boarded she came to me talking, moving her head like they do and I was grooming her while she kept talking. I decided she was trying to tell me something so I started walking around her and found a pretty good sized piece of stick in her neck! I had to find pliers to pull it out! She stood stock still and let me help her...they amaze me!
Shiny is suspicious!
Is it any wonder I'm thinking more and more...those with 4 feet may be smarter than those with 2.

(57,349 posts)The Morgan mare I had when I was a kid let me know she was tangled in an old roll of barbed wire, then she stood perfectly still while my dad and I took it apart with pliers and cutters. It took an hour because it was so rusted.
Now some horses would literally tear themselves apart if that happened but not her. And I'd only had her a couple of months before that happened.
Shiny is suspicious, you know that low blowing snort they make when they're confused and irritated? She's still doing that to the tank and we've had it all summer!

(6,476 posts)I'd say it's Morgan's but I had an Appy that was the same so I'm not sure why unless it's the relationship with the people in their life. Morgan's are chatty like Siamese cats.
Wow that's a long time to be blowing about a water tank...although my gelding would blow at the same tree stump no matter how many times he saw it..no jigging but had to register a complaint..never trust that tree stump!

(57,349 posts)There's a rock on one of the trails she treats the same way, she'll go past it but she's always expecting it to jump up and bite her.
That flight instinct is strong, which makes it even more amazing that they trust us so much.
And Morgans are the best!

(11,945 posts)She's a former stray, used to rough it outdoors, now lives a good indoor-outdoor life, but she notices when things have been moved, refuses to interact with anything that isn't just right. Princess and the pea. I figured maybe she was born a Virgo.
In total agreement that horses are magnificent creatures. I especially love their soft soft noses.

(3,580 posts)In other forums. I include all semite groups in my concerns but the rise of right-wing power in Europe and spreading here is blatant. I am not talking about Israel vs Palestinians. That's another argument. I'm talking about the acceptance of remarks that would not be embraced a few decades ago by commentators.
I am not a Bernie supporter by the way. I support HRC not that it should matter. Anyone who calls themselves a democrat should condemn antisemitism. Those movements never end well for anyone.
