Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumDear Bernie supporters, I want to thank you.
I'm so proud to find many friends among you from before Bernie's announcement and happy to get to know those of you I didn't know before. You all make me believe I'm on the right path in my thinking in what seems to be a sea of craziness taking over our institutions and our very lives. If we stick together, I believe we can change things and get back on track making this nation great again and a place where everyone can prosper and thrive even those who hate us and want to destroy us and our candidate.
That's all. I love all of you
Let the Bern live!

(3,247 posts)You're among friends on the right side of history-- at least in this group. Here on the eastern edge of Appalachia, I'm wondering how Bernie will do in the primaries in our region, and think the economic populist message might just resonate.

(42 posts)I think that Bernie will do better here than conventional wisdom might suggest.

(15,435 posts)I've been an advocate of Bernie Sanders longer than many here because of The Thom Hartmann Show. Before he announced he was actually going to run Thom had him on his show almost every single Friday. It was called "Brunch With Bernie" and people can call in and ask questions. Since he's in the trenches of running a campaign he can't visit like he used to. I got hooked on Thom's show a long time ago so was familiar with Bernie Sanders through the show. As time went by I told more and more people, but unless you have access to Thom's show or even KNOW about it few people knew much about him.
Now that he's running his message is THE message "we the people" need to hear and a real solution to so much that has gone off the rails in this country. If it were left to the people to simply vote WITHOUT the "fixed media," the Wall Street gangs, the Lobbyists and our very own Democratic Party I have NO DOUBT he could easily be elected. Really, no doubt at all. He is truly the David to Goliath and this country has become tone deaf.
The OLIGARCHS have done a masterful job of pulling the wool over millions and millions of people's eyes, to the point they simply go along to get along. They hear sound bites and take most of the crap for truth because to dig deeper takes time so they move on. I have to admit I stay depressed so much of the time because of this. My own family who live close and who are Democrats and vote because I push their buttons now tell me I don't have a life outside of politics. My daughter and son and their spouses will vote for Bernie in the FL Primary, but tell me I should stop beating the drum because the BIG GUYS won't let him win!
So I come here to keep my engines revved and will fight the good fight. And the fighting here is at a fever pitch. I said I would vote for Hillary if she's the nominee even knowing what I've known from way back. I wonder now if there really will be much difference from what we have now. I thought I knew a lot about her, but digging deeper than before I'm dismayed by what I didn't know and I've been a DU member since 2004. At times I've had to take "sabbaticals" to keep me from going nuts. I still see names of some of our originals, but some have gone and not returned. Very probably because of the influx of DLC types.
I could go on and on, but really want to thank you for posting this, we simply can't stop and we need to stick together and devote ourselves to the challenges ahead. I really need to shorten my posts, but my brain seems not to understand.
I can't remember ever supporting a candidate that's made me feel so much passion and dedication.
So I too send the same message to everyone who stands with us, let's make the small seed of an oak grow mighty and spread it's branches far and wide!!!

We were together on most issues before and it's just great to be backing the same candidate and seeing how enthusiastic so many people are about him, especially younger ones!

(19,326 posts)to take back our democracy from the Wall St./MIC greed-heads, to rebuild the nation to be
more livable and humane and just. And it's so refreshing to have a real-deal candidate
who I totally admire and trust.
Feeling the Bern all over again. Thanks for your awesome post.
