Bernie Sanders Gears Up for Campaign Events in Massachusetts

On the agenda, Sanders will discuss income and wealth inequality and the disappearing middle class, campaign finance reform, his legislation targeting high prescription drug costs, criminal justice reform, and his college affordability plan, according to his campaign website, Bernie 2016.

This year more than any other year, Massachusetts is a very important state for the presidential nominating contest. It is a Super Tuesday state, which means “voters will go to the polls March 1, the same day as voters in more than a dozen other states, when nearly a quarter of the total delegates will be awarded,” according to the website, Mass Live.

“Massachusetts is one of the places where we like our chances going forward,” Michael Briggs, a spokesman for Sanders’ campaign, said.

Briggs also confirmed that Massachusetts is one of the states Sander’s campaign committee is focusing on to assemble a national organization along with Minnesota, Virginia and Colorado.
