Just a little Bernie related anecdote...

I wanted to tell you guys about recent experience I had yesterday. I like hearing about people's everyday encounters as it is inspirational and positive. I went to a trivia night with a group of friends last night. There were 6 people including myself as a team. I consider them my friends as we have gone out to trivia nights a few times before, but I didn't know much about their political views prior to last night. So we are enjoying beer and appetizers when one of them says "did you hear that Trump is going to be in town?" So we started talking about Trump and how ridiculous he is. Now, i'm a pretty political person, but I usually don't force my political views on people whose political views i'm not sure of in order to avoid offending them. The conversation soon went to the other republican candidates. One of the group mentioned how she thought Bush was "okay" because he seemed like the least conservative of the republicans. I gave the opinion that I wasn't impressed by ANY of the republicans. Then, the same person who mentioned Bush, said that she likes Bernie Sanders. That's when the floodgates opened and the conversation shifted to Bernie. We talked about his appeal to young people (the entire group ranged in age from 29 -35) and how, if he became the nominee, he would appeal to a lot of republican voters. We talked about his poll #'s and how Obama was down by about the same amount at this point in the race. All told, out of the 6 of us, 4 of us were Bernie Supporters, 1 appeared to be an undecided democrat, and 1 was a republican who didn't really participate in the discussion much. Its so heartening to know that here in my town in central Illinois, where most people are politics averse, there is such support for Bernie, particularly among young(ish) people. It makes me realize that we really can pull this off!!

Please share some of your experiences, as I'd love to hear them!

candidate. My niece's boyfriend saw my Bernie button and told me he has a Bernie bumper sticker on his car. I knew I liked this kid, this just made me like him even more! Also, the only bumper stickers and lawn signs I've seen in my neck of the Garden State are Bernie's.
