4. One poster just told me that because Sanders voted for the 1998 Iraq Liberation Act,

he is just as responsible for the invasion of Iraq as she is. Yes, even though the ILA didn't authorize war, the IWR did, and even though Sanders argued powerfully against the IWR, we now learn that Sanders is just as responsible for the invasion of Iraq as Hillary. It is truly silly season.

5. "YOUR candidate is just as bad as MY candidate!" is not much of a selling point,

especially when it's patently false.

posters we are encountering.

It is the strawman rebuttal to the reality of Clinton's true hawkish policies and positions versus Sanders very moderate and reasonable considerations of each conflict that must be dealt with.

Most of the time I just laugh now at its ridiculousness. I only worry about it because yes most Americans have become ignorant low information voters who vote (if they vote that is!) solely on sound bites, media pushed memes, and cults of personality.

7. I guess I need a break from it.

I am not optimistic about Bernie's chances, and so I am becoming less tolerant of the stupid memes that are being used against Sanders. I have a work deadline on Nov 30 anyways, so I think I will try to stay out of the fray for a couple weeks (assuming I can resist the temptation to check in, lol--geez, sometimes it's like being tempted to look at the aftermath of a car accident)

8. I was never optimistic.

I am a realist. The Democratic Party is controlled by the neoliberals. Most Americans no matter their race or gender are low information voters. And money dominates elections today.

However, I still remain hopeful because the very vocal minority here at DU is not what I experience in the real world out there. It will be close but I still think he can win.

Take a break if you need to. I understand. We will be here when you get back fighting the good fight.

It is the Clinton campaign that holds the power in money and in the polls.
She controls the DNC, the party messaging, the debate schedule, and the backing of party insiders and the M$M.
But somehow Sanders and his supporters are all powerful bullies in control.

Yet, despite their best efforts his campaign is in the 30% range with thousands of people showing up to his rallies.

9. Some DU Hillary supporters spend lots of time and energy proving that Bernie is better than Hillary.

Gay Rights--Maybe Hillary supported DOMA and spoke out against equal marriage on the Senate floor in 2004, and publicly came out for equal marriage only in 2013 and Bernie's been for gay rights forever, but, when he voted AGAINST DOMA, he simply gave the same reason every Democrat in his caucus who voted AGAINST it gave. (Gee, surely that can't be a coincidence?) NOT GOOD ENOUGH BERNIE (YET SO MUCH BETTER THAN HILLARY)!

War-Maybe Hillary voted for the Afghanistan War, helped sell the Iraq War, voted for the Iraq War and voted for the Iraq Surge (every war and surge for which she was ever eligible to vote) and did other things as Secretary of State, but Bernie voted for the Afghanistan War and to fund troops already put in harms way by earlier votes. (Kerry once tried to do otherwise and regretted it.)

NOT GOOD ENOUGH BERNIE (YET SO MUCH BETTER THAN HILLARY)!
