The reason we need to elect Bernie is not because he has had to attend these dinners as well, but because we have a system in which such fund-raising is expected. He seems like the only candidate who would even try to change this system. However, getting money out of elections is a complicated issue. I even posted an article in one of the threads with an international comparison. The Scandinavian countries seem to be best about limiting campaign finance. Some countries do not allow TV ads. Others, like Brazil, are a free for all.
