20 Questions Bernie supporters would like answers to

A great list of questions I borrowed from Huff Post (link at bottom).

These are questions I would genuinely like to know the answers to (sans any snark/sarcasm/etc.)

1. Why is Clinton more capable of leading our nation than Sanders, if it was Vermont's Senator who voted against Iraq and predicted its outcome, while Clinton calls her vote a "mistake"?

2. Why are supporters of Clinton willing to move the Democratic Party and America dangerously to the right with Clinton's neoconservative foreign policy?

3. Without claiming Republicans are worse, how is Clinton going to fulfill her promise of ending mass incarceration, when her campaign has accepted $133,246 from two major prison lobbyists?

4. Why has Clinton evolved on so many issues, when Bernie Sanders remains true to his principles?

5. How is Hillary Clinton better for African Americans and Latinos than Bernie Sanders, in light of the fact she utilized Republican strategies (race, Islamophobia in order to defeat a political opponent) against Obama in 2008?

6. Who is more trustworthy?

7. Who is more likely to have a scandal-free presidency?

8. Will Clinton continue to oppose Keystone and the TPP as president?

9. How did Clinton evolve on gay marriage?

10. Why did it take Clinton so long to evolve on gay marriage?

11. Does Hillary Clinton really believe wiping a computer server means with a cloth?

12. Does Clinton's experience translate to good judgment and decision making?

13. Was the Libya bombing a wise decision on the part of Secretary of State Clinton?

14. Why didn't Clinton mention Sandra Bland, like Sanders, in the debates?

15. If gun violence is a tragedy, then is gun violence also a travesty in Iraq and Libya, if Clinton's foreign policy decisions helped lead to this violence?

16. Who's more likely to be influenced by factors other than progressive principles?

17. If Hillary Clinton didn't have name recognition, but still held the same prior positions and subsequent flip flops, would you still vote for her?

18. If you fear future Supreme Court nominees, then in the future would you vote for someone even more conservative than Clinton on foreign policy, or would you take a stand against the DNC?

19. Which candidate inspires voters?

20. Why do Clinton supporters always question the motives of anyone critiquing Hillary Clinton?

It's not like HA Goodmand's posts aren't brought over here breathlessly the minute they got live on Huffpo.

Edited to add; I didn't realize it was in the Bernie group since I clicked via the main page. it's not like you're going to get a lot of HRC people coming in here since it could easily be viewed as a trap to get alerts on them.

Many hillary supporters are quite civil...and I don't worry about the bulk of you...its the ones lacking civility that are the issue.

1. Why is Clinton more capable of leading our nation than Sanders, if it was Vermont's Senator who voted against Iraq and predicted its outcome, while Clinton calls her vote a "mistake"?

Because, Bernie only got a D- from the NRA. He voted to fund the troops and pay for their medical treatment when they got home after it became clear that a war was in progress.

2. Why are supporters of Clinton willing to move the Democratic Party and America dangerously to the right with Clinton's neoconservative foreign policy?

Because there has always been a faction of Conservative Democrats and some are comfortable with the status quo and somewhere in their hearts they truly believe that anyone who works hard can make it in this country and are somewhat undeserving of a safety net.

3. Without claiming Republicans are worse, how is Clinton going to fulfill her promise of ending mass incarceration, when her campaign has accepted $133,246 from two major prison lobbyists?

You mean the candidate that has refused to come out in support of legalizing marijuana? Most people in prison are there for non-violent offenses such as and mostly over drug use.

4. Why has Clinton evolved on so many issues, when Bernie Sanders remains true to his principles?

Evolving is a good thing it is something that happens over decades. Sometimes it happens during a historic event like when Biden talked off the cuff about legalizing gay marriage then Obama spoke about it and millions of people all the sudden understood it wasn't a big deal. However, it is telling when someone evolves quickly on the issues only during campaign seasons.

5. How is Hillary Clinton better for African Americans and Latinos than Bernie Sanders, in light of the fact she utilized Republican strategies (race, Islamophobia in order to defeat a political opponent) against Obama in 2008?

She isn't. She got flustered at a meeting with BLM and told them Respectfully, if that is your position, then I will talk only to white people about how we are going to deal with the very real problems,”

Her position that economic reform is more achievable than social justice is no different from Bernie talking about economic issues that affect AA people much more harshly as a group than white Americans and that economic justice is a more realistic goal. Yes of course we should fight for social justice but realize economic justice is a big part of the picture as well.

6. Who is more trustworthy?

Well...If you are the 1% Hillary is. If you are not then Bernie is.

7. Who is more likely to have a scandal-free presidency?

Neither. It doesn't matter what a Democrat does or doesn't do the RWNJ will manufacture a scandal even if there is none.

8. Will Clinton continue to oppose Keystone and the TPP as president?

I am so glad I wasn't drinking anything.

9. How did Clinton evolve on gay marriage?

I think like most people. A lot of people over the past several decades have become more tolerant of GLBT persons and supporting their civil rights is part of that. I refuse to slam Hillary on this one. I welcome her to the new century.

10. Why did it take Clinton so long to evolve on gay marriage?

She was raised by Republicons. It is a miracle she has become as liberal as she has. I won't slam her on this one either.

11. Does Hillary Clinton really believe wiping a computer server means with a cloth?

LOL. No. Okay maybe I haven't seen the context for this.

12. Does Clinton's experience translate to good judgment and decision making?

If only.

13. Was the Libya bombing a wise decision on the part of Secretary of State Clinton?

I will leave this question to actual Hillary supporters. I think not.

14. Why didn't Clinton mention Sandra Bland, like Sanders, in the debates?

After what she said at a BLM meeting. I think she is wise to lay low.

15. If gun violence is a tragedy, then is gun violence also a travesty in Iraq and Libya, if Clinton's foreign policy decisions helped lead to this violence?

I don't think we should be conflating these issues. Yes, we should look at over all world violence and seek solutions. But, Hillary did not invent violence in the Middle East despite her disastrous policy stands.

16. Who's more likely to be influenced by factors other than progressive principles?

Oh my.

17. If Hillary Clinton didn't have name recognition, but still held the same prior positions and subsequent flip flops, would you still vote for her?

If Hillary didn't have name recognition she would not be a presidential candidate. We would be arguing over Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, and Martin O'Malley and some would wish a woman would step up and run as would I.

18. If you fear future Supreme Court nominees, then in the future would you vote for someone even more conservative than Clinton on foreign policy, or would you take a stand against the DNC?

What is the point of SC nominees if we win the court but lose the world? By lose the world I mean we don't invest in green energy and we don't scale back our MIC and we don't pull troops out of countries where we demonstrably do not need them.

19. Which candidate inspires voters?

GO BERNIE.

20. Why do Clinton supporters always question the motives of anyone critiquing Hillary Clinton?

It is easier than defending her on the issues.

And I recognized some of those questions were at least somewhat off base and responded as such.
