-snip-
A comparison of this weeks numbers to national polls conducted in late November and early December of 2007, Clinton had an even more commanding lead over Barack Obama. An LA Times/Bloomberg survey of likely Democratic primary voters between November 30 and December 3, 2007, showed Clinton with a 24-point lead over Obama. Even well into January 2008, Clinton still held a 15-point lead over Obama in a NBC/Wall Street Journal national poll.

New Reuters Poll Shows 13-Point Swing for Bernie Sanders
Tom Cahill | December 5, 2015
Bernie is closing in on Hillarys lead.
Roughly one full year remains before Americans cast their ballots for the next President of the United States. And according to a new national Reuters poll released today, Bernie Sanders is surging in his bid for the Democratic nomination, while Hillary Clinton is on the decline.
In the polls sample of 430 Democrats, all of whom were interviewed online, 51 percent of likely Democratic primary voters prefer Hillary Clinton, and 36 percent of Democrats prefer Bernie Sanders. 4 percent prefer former Maryland governor Martin OMalley, and roughly 10 percent of Democrats are still undecided. Sanders maintains a slight edge with voters identifying as independent, with 30 percent to Clintons 28 percent. While the Vermont U.S. Senator still lags behind the former Secretary of State, his position is six points higher than it was in last week Reuters poll, whereas Clintons polling position has dropped by 7 points amounting to a 13-point swing in Sanders favor.
Even when accounting for the 3.4 percent credibility interval in the Reuters poll (statistical margins of error dont apply for online polling), these new numbers still reflect nearly a double-digit positive swing for the avowed Democratic Socialist. Reuters weighted the poll sample to accurately reflect U.S. population data in terms of age, gender, educational level, and ethnicity.
The current numbers still show Hillary Clinton with a strong lead however, Sanders still has plenty of time to close the gap between now and the Democratic National Convention in 2016, when taking 2008 election numbers into consideration.

(13,877 posts)not both new to the national political scene...assuming Cena isn't. Julian Castro, too...but I'm pulling for Warren...yes, partly because she is a woman I admit, but she's absolutely qualified, gifted politically, has no fear (or beholden to) of the 99% and well-known.
Then the people of Massachusetts would be disappointed.
