Is Sanders "courting" Racist and Nazis? - Hell No!

At least that would seem to be the reasonable conclusion to draw from those who’ve been assailing Sanders for this suggestion. Stripped of its emotional demagogy, that is essentially the complaint: that Sanders is attempting to draw people away from Trump’s racist snake oil with his economic message and that is, somehow, a bad thing.

Honestly, I'm surprised some of these people have legs and can walk because I can only imagine them slithering on their bellies like snakes.

I'm very aware this is a pro Sanders article. I'm also aware which forum I'm posting in.

It appeared you were calling me one of them. Maybe you should try using nouns instead of pronouns. I thought you were calling me a snake slithering in here to post.

little choice but to realize that the job they're applying for involves leadership of all the people, not just loyal supporters.

The Kennedy-Nixon race was extremely close. Nixon, IMO, was a mediocrity, which made the pursuit of political power all the more attractive, and in pursuing it, he lost what was left of his soul by instigating branches of the federal government to act against its own citizens. late reports suggest he was a racist, paranoid sociopath with no sense of fair play at all.

But in 1960, he almost became president. Kennedy won, but the nation he became president of was already very polarized. The Carter-Ford race was close. And certainly Gore-Bush -- so close that it was stolen outright.

The country is polarized to the point of agitation and violence. Trump is that polarity made flesh.

If he is elected, and I hope he will be, Sanders will have to lead all the people, even the ones where the polarity runs deep and is longstanding. In my opinion, when he asks Trump voters for their support, he is calling them to a higher citizenship than the one their current candidate is demonstrating.
