(11,366 posts)I'm the "white" Turners. My Dad and my son had/have the classic "dimple" in the end of the nose like Ted. I never found if we were directly related in our family tree, but I'm not kidding when I say my Dad and Ted looked quite a bit alike.
That said, my family also never owned slaves - I'm proud of that - so I don't think any slave took the last name in my direct linage. We were either too poor or lived in areas not suitable for plantations, so the "black" Turners may or may not be a part of my heritage.
Either way, I see "Turner" and count that person as kin, white, black or otherwise.

That said, yes I have! An older guy I work with who's a big Dem walked by me in the hall at work and whispered, "You Feel the Bern?" LMAO!! Most of my co-workers are pretty GOP, so that exchange was hilarious.

When my cat scratches the furniture I call her a little fawker, but it's not quite the same I guess.
I don't envy you around all the GOP goobers. I guess the beauty of being the boss is that no one dares utter GOP bullshit around me. Plus I'm lending the restaurant to our local volunteers for phone banking and other events. We are holding a viewing party for Bernie's national address on the 23rd.
It is good to be the Queen

(5,141 posts)And owner. I can't handle the line anymore (I'm 50, my back couldn't take the strain and the MS gives me incredible fatigue) but I give the kitchen a lot of creative leeway. It's a pretty convivial place actually. Do you get up to NY much?

(3,396 posts)Twitter has been a Berniefest since polls started coming out last week and the Planned Parenthood endorsement blew up in their faces.
Haven't seen much activity on DU Hillbots. Have they fled?
