Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumTalked to my Neighbor across the street today.
The Bernie sign I had up blew away last week to parts unknown. At least to me. Turns out it blew into the street and my neighbor picked it up and put it in the back of his pickup. He said he wasn't sure who it belonged to, but since I was already putting another sign up he guessed it was mine. Said he didn't want me to think he'd taken it down or anything because he didn't like the guy. In fact, he said, he and his son had been watching the debate and he thought Sanders had some pretty good ideas. I'm beginning to like him, he said. He's a working man in his forties or so, and anybody less like what a Berniebro is supposed to be can't be imagined.

(39,215 posts)volunteers provide in advance states. As we win in a state the emphasis will move to the next states and the Bernie states will move their attention to those new states. Like a rolling snowball it will pick up more and more volunteers and more power.

One of the other phone bankers was an older African-American woman, who was apparently an old hand at campaigning. Her husband was out canvassing, showing one of the Millennials the ropes. Millenials seem to be the majority in this office. One young guy who just joined said he'd worked on a campaign for Rand Paul, but that was before he felt the Bern.

(39,215 posts)also. She was young with beautifully dyed hair and a great personality.
We had all ages attending: many from the tribe, one union leader from town, a business man and his son, three college students, a single mother, an activist who was very angry and more. Our area Democratic leader was also there. I have no idea if he came because he supports Bernie or just to help with the teach-in. Either way I was glad to see he was there. We phone banked, ate lunch together and then learned the rules regarding MN primary caucuses. Very educational.

(5,141 posts)...is that Sander's bumper stickers, yard signs and t-shirts outnumber all other candidates put together.
The main stream media may not get it but the people sure as hell do.
That's why Sanders is surging. People are talking and they have faith in that more than the news.

If that's the case I'll give him one. A bumper sticker, too. And throw in a button. He'll have to buy his own tee shirt.

(3,010 posts)If he did, so there's that and he didn't damage my door buzzard. (offhand reference to a hilarious pre-Christmas thread.) Besides, I'm phone banking for Bernie and they told me I could have all the signs I want.

(11,945 posts)Bernie talks about what matters to people, and people hear him.
But she can't stop us calling and knocking on doors. The more they try to silence the message, the more determined Bernie's volunteers become to spread the word. I know that's the way I feel at least.

(11,945 posts)Being a highly worthy underdog is a huge motivator for supporters. And given Bernie's David vs. Goliath message, he'll always be the underdog, even when he comes out ahead.
Not bad!
