New Des Moines Register/Bloomberg poll is disaster for O'Malley

Someone talk me off the ledge here. New DMR/Bloomberg poll has O'Malley at 3%. Only 1% more than Webb who has done zero campaigning. O'Malley is killing it in Iowa and is getting local coverage but still can't get any traction.

DMR/Bloomberg's poll is run by the gold standard of polling Seltzer. So, I have to trust their numbers. If Biden is not in the poll, O'Malley jumps to 8%. But, still has to be way less than campaign was expecting. I don't see how the campaign continues to raise money with that kind of polling.

So bummed.

3. Not by this group. They are known for being dead one with caucus polling.

It's a real shame. I think he is going to need to start airing ads or his PAC is going to have to. My worry is the PAC will air negatives ads which won't help O'Malley at all.

I think people are craving something different, sort of the unabashed, honest attack dog which kind of explains Bernie and Trumps surge.. Those who don't like that are going with the establishment picks of Clinton or Jeb etc. So O malley is sort of stuck between establishment and outsider meaning he doesn't really have a natural footing or base.

Good candidate on paper, except there doesn't seem to be a path. We seem the same thing with Rubio on the Republican side.

7. I think he has the oomph and the resume. He just lacks an opening

and a way to raise his name recognition. He really needs to have raised enough money to air some feel good ads in NH and IA that explain his resume and his policies. He just isn't getting any media attention and it is hurting him immensely. He's the only candidate who hasn't held federal office so his name recognition outside of Maryland is non-existent.

8. O'M is another Democratic Party great candidate I could vote for President in the general, denied any media oxygen because he talks issues, not shit.

In the silly season the same media denies is not silly at all...of course they do...silly is what sells to the summer-time crowd.

Polls don't drive him; principles do.

That is what makes O'Malley who he is.

13. We are still in the campaign "preseason". Nothing really starts until after Labor

Day. America is still enjoying its summer, getting the kids ready for back to school, and goofing on Trump and the GOP. When the leaves start to turn, they'll pay attention to the election.

Who was leading at this point in 2007? Herman Cain and John Edwards.

15. We're backing the "right horse" (hate to use racing comparison).

I just wish the DNC hadn't locked O'Malley's starting gate by limiting debates.

I think that (not sure why) they are more afraid of O'Malley than they are of Sanders.

O'Malley is confident for a reason. He knows how this game is being played.

I just hope he has enough funding to make it to the first debate.

He needs more nationwide attention.
