2019 Guam budget bill defeated by a vote of 9 to 6

Guam lawmakers this afternoon rejected the proposed budget for the 2019 fiscal year, despite having spent the past two weeks working on it.

Bill No. 323-34 was defeated by a vote of 9-6. It was a bipartisan outcome with 4 republicans joining 5 democrats to scrape the 187 page document.

Voting ‘No’ were democratic senators Tom Ada, Frank Aguon Jr., Joe S. San Agustin, Dennis Rodriguez Jr. and Vice Speaker Therese Terlaje. They were joined by republicans Wil Castro, Fernando Esteves, Louise Muna, and Tommy Morrison,

A similar, but smaller, mix of 6 voted in favor of passage.
