Fiscal conservatives vs fiscal opportunists.. I am a fiscal conservative..

and so are 99% of liberals/progressives.. we propose programs and a way to pay for them.. through fair taxation..we do not run our country into a deep well of debt that strangles future generations..

Somehow, somewhere, we let the republicans define themselves as fiscal conservatives who were working to keep balanced budgets to keep the government running for the future.

Nothing could be further from the truth.. The republican party, especially since Reagan has run itself on the Credit Card.. giving huge tax cuts to the wealthy, talking about how wealth will trickle down the chins of the rich to those of us serving them..

Or running a war on the credit card..not even trying to raise bonds to pay for billions and billions that added to the deficiet that we pay and our children and grands will pay.. apparently the only time the republicans are concerned about debt is when the Democrats are in office otherwise to quote VP Cheney.. during their tenure.. deficits did not matter..they believe in fiscal opportunism..

Why is this in the Primary Discussion.. Our people will be proposing programs, to green energy , infrastructure , medical care for all etc etc.. and a way to pay for it.. do not be afraid to defend taxation with people.. "that is the price we pay for our freedoms and democracy"
(that is a paraphrase of a quote from whom I cannot remember.. greater minds than mine will remind me I hope)

We as Democratic voters will judge these proposals if they are doable or not.. that is our job..
