Detroit's Fox Theatre will host Democratic presidential debates in July

WASHINGTON — Detroit's Fox Theatre will be the site of two-night debate July 30-31 between Democrats running for their party's presidential nomination.

CNN and the Democratic National Committee released the site to the Free Press on Tuesday morning. Additional details, including the moderators, timing and how to get tickets, were not immediately available.

The Free Press first announced in April that CNN would hold the second Democratic debate. The first Democratic debate, hosted by NBC, is scheduled to take place at Miami's Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts June 26-27.

“CNN is excited about airing next month’s back-to-back Democratic presidential debates from Detroit’s historic Fox Theatre,” said Mark Preston, CNN’s vice president of political & special events programming.

and "down" the street from the tenement housing for many relatives leaving the south for factory jobs.

Miss Rosenburg taught 3d grade at Goldberg Elementary. I have never forgotten her. She called on me to read frequently. With my thick accent she encouraged me to read aloud to the class. She is still my hero, responsible for my proper midwestern accent and much more.
