Biden leads Trump by 'landslide proportions' in new national poll

Former Vice President Joe Biden leads President Trump by 13 points nationally according to the latest Quinnipiac University survey.

In a national head-to-head matchup, the poll found Biden taking 53 percent against 40 percent for Trump, with the poll's assistant director describing it as a "landslide" margin.

Five other Democratic contenders also lead the president: Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Kamala Harris (Calif.) and Elizabeth Warren (Mass.) hold healthy leads over Trump, with Sanders up by 9 points, Harris ahead by 8 and Warren leading by 7.

South Bend, Ind. Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Sen. Cory Booker (N.J.) lead Trump by 5 points, with each posting a 47 to 42 split.

“It’s a long 17 months to Election Day, but Joe Biden is ahead by landslide proportions,” said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll.

From link..

Biden’s double-digit lead over Trump is largely driven by the gender gap. The former vice president edges Trump 47 percent to 46 among men. But among women, Biden leads by 26 points, 60 to 34.

It's all about the math, whether Biden can carry Hillary's states + the Rust Belt. Right now Joe's looking good in Pennsylvania and Michigan. Democrats are going to have to work hard for Wisconsin. But at the moment all indicators point to Joe Biden kicking the Trumpster to the curb. The Donald knows this, too. A good thing. Because regardless of the nomination result, Joe Biden is inside the Squatter-in-Chief's head. And it shows. The more Trump worries and frets, the better for our nominee.

we could put ANYONE with a D behind their name and win. I think we are ALL going to be surprised at how close this election is going to be. With gerrymandering and voter interference, we are in for a hard, tough battle. Then, add in the cheating at the polls, and we have NO idea who is going to win. I will never be sucked into to a premature celebration again.

Good thing I'm old because it would really suck for a young person to have my attitude.

But we need to understand how a lot of voters operate. People who are not on DU.

Recovering from mistakes is what leadership is about, Warren stumbled out the gate but has made up the difference with consistent messaging.

Sure, anyone can fu*k up. But it isn't news, it's a prediction of failure.

Maybe you're having a bad day, cheer up! We could be hit by an asteroid tomorrow, Republicans have set Democrats up for a victory, they must play defense for another year. It's almost as important as winning.

A close win would be spun by Trump into being "fixed". A landslide would stop that rhetoric from being believed by swing voters send a signal to everyone to change course.
