Joe Biden's Father's Day tweet

As my father believed, there’s no higher calling for a woman or a man than to be a good mother or a good father. Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there who work every day to help raise their children—and all our children—to be honorable, generous, kind young men and women.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

But it's time our candidates started working on more gender-inclusive language.

They wouldn't be happy reading that Joe says that only men and women can be mothers and fathers.

Sorry about being so cryptic.

"only men and women" can be mothers and fathers. He is honoring mothers and fathers who raise children "to be honorable, generous, kind young men and women."

I think the sentiment was pretty clear and inoffensive. It seems that no matter what anyone says these days, someone somewhere will be offended.

He could have said there's no greater calling for a person.

However, I will reconsider my feelings and those of my friends.

Take care.

I think we really need to try and understand a person's intent and sentiment. In this case, Joe's feelings are quite sincere.

Joe is a wonderful person, and I'd be happy to call him "my president."

But it's not a huge leap to change his tweet to "As my father believed, there’s no higher calling for a person than to be a good parent. Have a wonderful Father's Day."

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
