Biden sees support from Democrats slip 10 points after debate

The percentage of Democrats who say they would vote for former Vice President Joe Biden if the presidential race were held tomorrow slipped by 10 points after the first primary debate.

According to a Morning Consult/FiveThirtyEight poll of likely Democratic voters released on Friday, 41.5 percent said before the debates they would vote for Biden tomorrow, but 31.5 percent said the same thing after Thursday night’s debate.

The apparent decline in support comes after Biden was widely seen as having faltered, including engaging in a stark exchange with Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) over school busing.

Harris herself got a nearly 9 point bump, with 16.6 percent of Democrats saying they would support her after the debate, up from 7.9 percent before the events.

that Harris will go after Warren next. Biden had African-American support that Harris wanted, Warren has support from female voters that Harris surely wants, too.

guess. I just have a feeling that our candidate is going to be very roughed up for the general and I don't understand how people don't get that. It was fucked up with just Bernie and HIllary in 2016 and look what happened when he didn't drop out. It's going to be so much worse I can't even think about it anymore.

Joe Biden had one important task in 2008, don't be seen as a bully beating up Sarah Palin. Let her shoot herself in the foot, just be a gentleman, and let her whine, "Say it ain't so, Joe," after pointedly asking him at the beginning of the debate to ask if she can call him "Joe". Thanks to Tina Fey for highlighting that in an SNL skit!

Kamala Harris played both the race card against Joe Biden when she dug up an old irrelevant issue, and she played the woman card when she used the word "hurtful". No man can get away with using that term without looking like a wimp. He has only the experience card to play against her, and he's limited there. He already backed (by accepting the VP nomination) a candidate for president who only had two years in the US Senate before making a decision to go for the brass ring.
