Apart from Harris' spike, Bernie's number is the big news here.

He was okay at the debate. I didn't see any kind of breakout performance. I think he lacks the presence/charisma to be a contender.

seem to get off on going after Beto. It's quite disgusting, imo. He also was not telling the truth, so there's that too.

4. so some pretty clear takeaways

1. Harris' performance was clearly viewed favorably by a lot of people. She will have to maintain it AND effectively respond to attacks now that she's near the top in order to keep from falling back again.
2. Biden is definitely not inevitable. Having said that, after a significantly bad debate night, he still have significant support. So, just like I said with Harris, if he does a better job of responding to being the front runner and has a better series of debate performances, then he will have a good shot. If not, the pack is going to catch and pass him.
3. Warren has the best plans of everyone and she's definitely in my top two. Having said that, if another candidate can pass her with one strong debate performance, she definitely hasn't closed the sale yet and has a lot more to do.
4. Bernie falling into single digits and fourth place in Iowa is not good for him. He cannot finish fourth in Iowa and out of first in NH and have any shot of winning. He ain't winning SC so that will be three in a row. Unless he figures out a new game, he's in deep doo doo.

14. Harris' support more than doubled compared to the June poll

"Harris, in contrast, saw her support more than double compared to the June poll, to 16% from 7%. She was also chosen as the second choice of 17% — a telling measure of the potential breadth of a candidate's support. When first and second choices were combined, Biden only narrowly edged Harris, 35% to 33%."
