Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumThis WOC, Joyce Wilson, Gets It in South Carolina..
Bidens comments werent (offensive) to me, said York resident Joyce Wilson, 53, who recently was still deciding between Biden, Harris and U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass. (But) the news media just beat it, beat it, beat it and that kind of thing will cause divisiveness.
More comments from POC in South Carolina!
(Biden) does not shy away from standing up to a bully, Richmond, also a former Congressional Black Caucus chairman, added.
More than a dozen black S.C. voters interviewed by The State said Biden, 76, could run on being a seasoned politician who spent nearly four decades in electoral politics, plus another eight years in the White House.
Hes been in politics for a long time, and I think hes the best candidate to beat Trump, said Jeffery Lytes, 49, of Lexington.
Im real high on experience, and Im real impressed with the experience he has, added state Sen. Kevin Johnson, D-Clarendon. I think hes the right person to bring us to victory.
Dorothy Craig, a 56-year-old from Union who has pretty much decided to vote for Biden because of his experience, agreed.
I just feel like he has the experience. I feel like we need someone who has that same experience to go back in and put it back in order.

Bonus quotes..
Bidens tie to Obamas tenure is motivation enough for some black S.C. voters to back him.
Travis and Cynthia Keller of Irmo a couple in their 40s said the 2010 Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, is what has helped guarantee their 11-year-old son, a three-time organ transplant recipient, gets the coverage and treatment he needs.
We know that Joe will fight for us, Cynthia Keller said

(8,144 posts)I love his complete lack of intimidation with George Schultz and the great stuff he does tapping the
manuscript, treating it disdainfully as he handles it, the smiles that say you dont fool me and I think you are s horses ass. But most of all his sharp passion and urgency to get us on the side of
black South Africans. That last I dont believe you, and they dont either, said in that tone! He definitely had trial lawyer chops.

(49,024 posts)Because if so, you're insulting a lot of blacks.
The latest ABC News/WaPo poll, for instance, found out that when they polled on a head-to-head matchup with Trump, Biden got 83% of black support while Trump got 12%.
Harris did pretty well with black voters polled, but not as well as Biden, with 77%-16% of the black vote against Trump.

(18,486 posts)Because I know that all black people don't think alike and thus, the fact that some black people think one way is not proof that any black people who don't agree with them "don't get it." We think for ourselves and often disagree with each other, just like white people.

(49,024 posts)then you'll see that the VERY FIRST quote given in the article from a South Carolinian -- the one who's the subject of the very first paragraph of the article -- explains WHY Cha used that wording for the OP title.
That very first quote is in paragraph 7 of the article.
Here are paragraphs 6 and 7:
I support him, said the 34-year-old Columbia resident. I am a black woman. I get where hes coming from.
Emphasis added.
