**Bernie Sanders is no longer the 1st choice of 2016 Sanders voters, Elizabeth Warren is**

Per last week's Economist/YouGov poll, Bernie Sanders is no longer the 1st choice of 2016 Sanders voters; Elizabeth Warren is.

2016 Clinton voters...
Biden: 32%
Warren: 17
Harris: 17
Buttigieg: 7
Sanders: 5

2016 Sanders...
Warren: 29
Sanders: 24
Harris: 11
Buttigieg: 9
Biden: 6
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

It would be good to see a poll like this for 2016 Trump voters, third party, non-voters, etc. IronLionZion Jul 2019 #2
Am I interpreting this correctly - 76% of 2016 Sanders voters are now supporting for someone else? George II Jul 2019 #3
That sounds about right. He got 43% in 2016 and is down to around 15% now. W_HAMILTON Jul 2019 #4

to see how many our side may have picked up. I'm hoping by the time the general election comes along the left will be much more unified this time.

I'm a proud member of that ~76% that will NOT be voting for Sanders this time around.

In 2016, basically everyone who didn't want HRC went to Sanders. This year, those same people have many more candidates to choose from. I voted Sanders in 2016. I'd still take Sanders over HRC. But that list in the OP of who Sanders voters are voting for, in order, roughly mirrors my own preferences, except I'd bump Pete up into second place. Biden is kind of this year's HRC, and I think that's reflected in those figures in the OP, as to where HRC's voters are going and were Sanders' voters are going. HRC and Biden are the most "establishment" candidates of their respective races, so right there it makes sense that a lot of HRC voters are going to Biden, whereas Sander's less establishment oriented voters are splitting their preferences among numerous less establishment candidates.

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

There is a rather large margin of error here, though—on the order of 5-10% for each candidate. (Sorry, I couldn't fit the caveat in the first tweet.)

I’m definitely NOT supporting him this time. He did several things to lose me, chief among them being his lukewarm “support” for Hillary Clinton in 2016.
