(630 posts)It is eerily similar to some early '16 polls, IIRC. Clinton would be way ahead but in the 40s. Trump way behind, big undecideds. We now know how many of them broke. Hope as the race goes on we start seeing our frontrunner/ nominee break 50. Also interesting, trump's vote share scarcely changes (within moe) no matter the polled opponent. Undecideds just go up. Name recognition? Pretty fascinating poll, really.

(630 posts)even back in the summer before interference from Russia broke them toward trump, Clinton never had those voters sewn up. Makes me nervous that they're calling themselves "undecided" again. Hillary got 48 and lost. Just gave me a shudder, is all.

(3,256 posts)His "great businessman" image and "drain the swamp" soundbite were attractive.
Now voters have realized what he really is and that he is the swamp.

(3,433 posts)The most he gets is 38%. It would be hard for him to win the election, if he can't get 40% of the suburban vote.

FWIW, Biden's polling average is currently at 49.6% - on election day in 2016, Hillary's was 46.8, so, nearly a three-point difference.

(630 posts)What do you make of the vote share? Mostly a lack of knowledge of our other candidates? I guess I'm just feeling wary, trump seems to have had an undeservedly good week, aided by media covering the "optics" of Mueller instead of the confirmation that this guy is, in fact, a criminal.
