Tulsi and Williamson shouldn’t have been on that stage.

some of us object to?

You realize that, if we were to make a rule bouncing any candidate Russia (and other hostile states) promoted, Putin et al would promptly expand their list beyond just Bernie Sanders, Gabbard and whomever, to also include Biden, Warren, Booker, etc, etc, etc? Laughing as they did, no doubt.

That said, I agree there needs to be a middle ground between 2016's paring of 14 candidates to 5 and 2020's opportunistic and degrading clutter. And that that process should include pulling weeds in some way that's compatible with democracy and with the principles and goals of the Democratic Party.

They are agnostic as to which party the candidate belongs to. Gabbard served honorably in Iraq and does not favor U.S. intervention anywhere.

The implication Gabbard is somehow working for or is a pawn of the Russian government is an ugly and totally unsubstantiated smear as far as I know.

Tulsi Gabbard is a Democrat who served as Vice Chair for the DNC from 2013-2016. In 2012 was the youngest woman ever elected to Congress, as well as being the first Samoan-American and Hindu ever elected.

Tulsi Gabbard served honorably in Iraq, is pro-MFA, anti-TPP, pro-choice and is anti-interventionist about lObya, Venezuela, and Syria due to her time in Iraq. At 21, she was the youngest woman elected to Congress in 2012. She is also the first Samoan-American and Hindu ever elected to Comgress.

Gabbard was not vetted:

A senior member of the Trump presidential transition said that 2016 talk with Trump did, indeed, touch on the possibility of “a potential position” with the administration, though the congresswoman made it “clear at the meeting she wasn’t seriously pursuing it.”

Trump’s team may have found the fit untenable too. The vetting for Gabbard listed a number of “political vulnerabilities” including the fact that she was an early supporter of Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-VT) 2016 presidential campaign. Additionally the transition team cited a 2014 instance in which Gabbard missed a Veterans Affairs hearing in order to shoot a surfing video interview for Yahoo News.

Leaked RNC vetting files

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard: Gabbard (D-Hawaii), now running for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, was vetted for a position in Trump's administration, reportedly Veterans Affairs secretary. Her file notes that she backed Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and "has given Democrats as many headaches" as "blessings."

In first general election debate, Clinton takes aim at Russia

"But increasingly, we are seeing cyber attacks coming from states, organs of states. The most recent and troubling of these has been Russia. There's no doubt now that Russia has used cyber attacks against all kinds of organizations in our country, and I am deeply concerned about this. I know Donald's very praiseworthy of Vladimir Putin, but Putin is playing a really ... tough, long game here. And one of the things he's done is to let loose cyber attackers to hack into government files, to hack into personal files, hack into the Democratic National Committee." — Hillary Clinton (presidential debate, transcript via CNN), Sept. 26, 2016

Clinton addresses hacks in second debate

"But, you know, let's talk about what's really going on here, Martha, because our intelligence community just came out and said in the last few days that the Kremlin, meaning Putin and the Russian government, are directing the attacks, the hacking on American accounts to influence our election. And WikiLeaks is part of that, as are other sites where the Russians hack information, we don't even know if it's accurate information, and then they put it out." — Hillary Clinton (presidential Debate, transcript via New York Times), Oct. 10, 2016

Clinton points to Russia on WikiLeaks information

"You are very clearly quoting from WikiLeaks, and what's really important about WikiLeaks is that the Russian government has engaged in espionage against Americans. They have hacked American websites, American accounts of private people, of institutions, then they have given that information to WikiLeaks for the purpose of putting it on the Internet." — Hillary Clinton, to moderator Chris Wallace (presidential debate, transcript via CNN), Oct. 19, 2016

and then support that claim with facts.

TRUMP: Now we can talk about Putin. I don't know Putin. He said nice things about me. If we got along well, that would be good. If Russia and the United States got along well and went after ISIS, that would be good.

He has no respect for her. He has no respect for our president. And I'll tell you what: We're in very serious trouble, because we have a country with tremendous numbers of nuclear warheads -- 1,800, by the way -- where they expanded and we didn't, 1,800 nuclear warheads. And she's playing chicken. Look, Putin...

WALLACE: Wait, but...

TRUMP: ... from everything I see, has no respect for this person.

CLINTON: Well, that's because [Putin would] rather have a puppet as president of the United States.

TRUMP: No puppet. No puppet.

and then support the claim with specific facts.

CLINTON: And it's pretty clear...

TRUMP: You're the puppet!

CLINTON:
TRUMP: No, you're the puppet.

CLINTON: [It's pretty clear you won't admit]that the Russians have engaged in cyber attacks against the United States of America,

that you encouraged espionage against our people,

that you are willing to spout the Putin line, sign up for his wish list, break up NATO, do whatever he wants to do,

and that you continue to get help from him, because he has a very clear favorite in this race.

So I think that this is such an unprecedented situation. We've never had a foreign government trying to interfere in our election. We have 17 -- 17 intelligence agencies, civilian and military, who have all concluded that these espionage attacks, these cyberattacks, come from the highest levels of the Kremlin and they are designed to influence our election. I find that deeply disturbing.

She has stated on numerous occasions that she supports expanding the use of drone strikes against military opponents, and, in 2014, refused to rule out the idea of using torture on suspected terrorists. Gabbard also spoke out vehemently against the Iran nuclear deal when it was first proposed by President Obama.

Isn't that similar to a DT talking point?

The tweet fits a pattern that Trump has employed before, using Twitter to spread misinformation that fits a narrative he wants to spin. Last month, he insisted that he, in fact, won the popular vote, but that "millions" of people voted illegally and handed that win to Hillary Clinton. Likewise, this tweet plays into a story that the hacks are only in the news now because Democrats want to blame the Russians for their loss in November.
