None of them have my support...

I'm pretty sick of it being just another day in America where plutocracy reigns, women and minorities are still marginalized and the working class gets nowhere.

The college admissions scandal has really set me off in a way I didn't expect. I had to work my way through college. The husband and I struggled to help our daughters who worked their butts off as well. Why should we work so hard while it just gets handed to spoiled rich kids who never did a damn thing to earn their place?

This just caps off the resentment that I've felt for a while and it's boiled over into anger.

I want to see these candidates really talk about these issues and what they think can be done to set this country right and onto a path for true equality, a level playing field. I don't think that's too much ask.

I consider myself a pragmatic person, but really...enough is enough. I'm not talking about a Bernie-type revolution or anything.

But this one-sided America where the top 10% gets to lie, cheat, steal, break the law and basically do whatever the fuck they want has to stop.

We play by the rules, do everything we're supposed to and we still get shit on. I'm pretty fucking sick of it.

Until a candidate can come forward with real answers rather than campaign feel-good rhetoric, I'm on the sidelines.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

… at all surprised by the college admissions scandal. Wealthy people always have these advantages... there are likely even more ways they get their kids ahead of the class. The Trump family is a classic case and I will be happy to help them lose... I hope some progress will be made, but I'm most interested in stopping the bleeding...

I get the cynicism, but most of our candidates have already "come forward with real answers" in the form of sponsoring, co-sponsoring, or supporting legislation intended to solve real-world issues. None of that is campaign rhetoric.

Additionally, many of them have detailed real-world solutions on their campaign websites, in public forums, and elsewhere. It's not like this campaign is happening in a vacuum.

I'm hoping that these dems won't be afraid to rock the boat and then some. I'm tired of the status quo.

I said "campaign rhetoric" because that's how I felt when I listened to Beto today on TV. Yeah, he said the right stuff, but I've heard it before, too.

Thanks.

I'm curious what precisely about Bernie's 'revolution' scares you?

Do you want to be in this same position 8 years from now? Elect a good, mainstream, moderate Democrat. One that takes money from big banks and claims to want to break them up. One that takes drug company money and wants to crack down on drug company price gouging. One that is willing to cut Medicare and Social Security to help fix the deficit. One that might cancel some, but not all, of Trump's tax cuts.

There is nothing that Bernie advocates that isn't done in one, if not all, of other advanced democracies, like Norway, Canada, Germany or England.

How different the US would be if he was President in 1980 instead of Ronald F*cking Reagan.

We were in the middle of the Emerging Republican Majority that had been astutely forecast in 1969. Minus Watergate we probably never get the 4 year reprieve from 1977 to 1981, and without the great campaigning skills of Bill Clinton we don't win in 1992 when the electorate was still 87% white.

I wish Bernie Sanders were half his current age. His great ideas will be more accepted 20 years from now. That's the unfortunate reality.

Bernie was a mayor of a relatively small state capital in 1981. But he won running as a socialist even back then because his policies made sense to ordinary people, as they do today.

I wish Bernie was half his age as well, but I wish the same for myself. I'm not willing to wait 20 years and neither are most Americans.
The change we need is needed NOW and isn't going to come from the party's preferred candidate.

We live in a screwed-up society, where money rules, and regular people don't mean squat. At this point, I have hopes that Joe Biden can fix things if he's the next president, but I remain cautious and relatively unconvinced.

It’s all in our Constitution, which in the current political climate is not going to be amended or changed by any party.

All of those issues are beyond the power of executive order.

To change thos issues, a House of Representatives and a Senate needs to be elected that will draft the bills, and vote to pass them.

For President, we only need a person in the oval office that will sign those bills when they come across her or his desk.

Do you doubt, for one second, that ANY of the field of candidates we have right now would sign any bill that actually passes that gets any of those addressed? Any of our candidates that would use the Veto to kill it? I don’t.

If you haven’t, please check out our party platform:
https://democrats.org/about/party-platform/

you are not alone in your desires. We are the party, of the only 2 parties to really choose from, that WANTS to address most/all of your issues.

To make it happen, we need a congress that will draft and muster the bill roll call votes to pass them. We make THAT part happen, and we put ANY of our candidates in office, and it’s a done deal.
