(7,277 posts)to improve your standing with Democratic voters. Gov. Bullock is showing the same lack of judgment that is the hallmark of his campaign -leaving his entry too late to qualify for the first debate, then whining about the DNC rules.

(22,600 posts)I am afraid that Democrats will manage to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
I will vote for whichever candidate wins the Democratic nomination even if I don't believe in them because beating Trump is more important than differences within the Democratic Party.

Yet some on the left keep up with their alienating aspirations - and accomplish very little.

The left of that day had all sorts of 'aspirations' and were very angry they didn't get more - and almost killed chances for what they got.

I like Steve as a person. One DIL went to high school with him and also thinks he's a good guy. He has also won his MT Governor races. But there was NO way that he is going to register nationally as a Presidential candidate among other stellar and better-known candidates that we have.
Brian Schweitzer was better-known nationally and even he wouldn't stand a chance in 2020, IMO.
What most pissed me off about Schweitzer ... and also about Bullock ... is that we NEED to replace Steve Daines as one of MT's Senators. Had Schweitzer run for the seat vacated by Max Baucus, we never would have had Daines in the first place. And if Bullock follows Schweitzer's precedent, we may once again have Daines in the Senate.
See, e.g., https://helenair.com/news/state-and-regional/govt-and-politics/bullock-presidential-bid-came-among-pleas-to-run-for-senate/article_29582c34-46ea-5aaa-b59d-276470ebe779.html
*******
Btw: I seem to remember seeing a recent OP that listed Senate seats for 2020 with Schweitzer as a candidate for the MT Senate seat. I can find NO confirmation of that anywhere.

(47,535 posts)After Hickenlooper left, the balance is slightly shifted toward the ultra left.
As stated above, we need the votes of moderates and independents. They do not want to lose their private insurance, do not want tax payers to pay four year college tuition or to forgive college debt.
In contrast to what Warren said last debate, alerting of what we should be doing is a smart move.

You appear so far to have just made it up out of whole cloth, or at best, are disingenuously using a one-off slip of the tongue to try and trash Bullock as some sort of Rethug-lite. You know that 'Democrat Party' is a loaded term, yet you still try and associate it with Bullock, and when challenged provide nothing of evidence.
Bullock just completed a term as the chairman of the National Governors Association, is the only Democratic POTUS candidate running who has won state-wide in a Red state (and has done it multiple times.)
In all my listening to him and reading about him he has never used the term Democrat Party, and certianly has never remotely exhibited a demeanour wherein he would do so on purpose.
He worked extremely hard to get solid progressive and centre-left liberal proposals passed into law, and succeeded with many, depite having a Republican dominated legislature to contend with.
He is NOT some Republican in sheep's clothing, which is what your smear hints at, or at least attempts to raise doubts about, which is insidious in and of itself as a form of attack.

(10,721 posts)Republicans try very hard to drill into the public consciousness the notion that the Democratic Party has moved far to the left, while the Republican Party has remained steady/static. That's absurd, of course, but an oft-repeated lie is believed by many.
The last thing we need is for Democrats to contribute to that same narrative.
