Trump was able to win in 2016 because he was able to make voters dislike Hillary Clinton more. Many people in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania didnt vote for Trump, but against Clinton. If those people heavily support Joe Biden, it means that Trumps ceiling of support is more limited than many have imagined. Trump might be limited just to those who are his biggest supporters. Trumps strategy is to discredit Joe Biden as a viable candidate, if he fails to do that, he doesnt the baseline of popular support needed to win reelection.
Donald Trumps refusal to expand the pool of voters who might support him is sowing the seeds for his political doom.

Why would Russia still be working on our 2020 election if not to keep trump where he's at despite the polls.

(16,786 posts)Either Joe Biden or Elizabeth Warren as the Democratic Nominee, Trump will have trouble defeating because they are talking with people, hearing their questions, reaching them on a human level, addressing their concerns....
They do not need to hold huge rallies of the same people in order to address their concerns just yet. They are hitting hard at Trump with an offensive strategy that Trump has no comeback for other than to name call. Trump has lost voters, nor has he expanded his base of support.
I trust people are finally paying attention. Polls are an indication that they are and Trump is indeed "RATTLED"".
