has issues on BOTH sides.

Sanders and some of his supporters are the worst I've ever seen in the simple act of persuading those who don't think like he and they do.

I'm right/Sanders is right, that's the end of it, and if you don't agree you are a corporatist stooge.
The volume of condescension, the venom against those who disagree, the pettiness, the over-the-top praise...it's all quite a turnoff.

If they toned it down like 30 percent, they'd probably do more to convince more people.

Thu Aug 22, 2019, 04:49 PM

because it's an actual word and it means something far other than "people who love corporations." Corporatism is the practice of allowing bodies (corpus) of people to act as a group and to be addressed as a group. Unions are corporatist, for instance, because labor is able to act as a body and to negotiate as a body. Everyone is a corporatist. It's my pet peeve.

Biden Advisor Symone Sanders Clashes With CNN’s Keilar Over Biden Gaffes: It’s ‘A Press Narrative’

(Simone)Sanders responded, “This is a press narrative, not a voter narrative. If you were to look at the coverage in Iowa this weekend and juxtapose the local newspapers and local television coverage to national media coverage you would have thought these reporters were at two different events.”

She said she won’t tell the press how to do their jobs, but added everyone should “elevate the conversation” and that “we cannot allow this election to devolve in a tit for tat over name-calling and ‘gaffes,’ something that does not matter. This is not something that’s registering with the American people.”

The corporate media will be touting Biden all the way is my guess. The candidate that they think will least affect their bottom lines, or more aptly their parent companies, and owners that have their hands in more than one industry that they don't want taxed fairly. Sanders, Gabbard, and Warren are all threats.

They've pretty much negated Gabbard with no coverage (even though she was one of the strongest performers in the last debate). They have practice with Sanders from last time. Ignoring the massive rallies he brought out, ignoring his policies, and pretty much dismissing him long before the primary ended. I think Warren will be a tougher nut to crack for the corp media. But if she is still a threat to win still by next year, you can bet she will be targeted, in subtle ways, to make sure she doesn't win. The question is, will the DNC remain neutral unlike last time, or push for the most conservative candidate to placate the MSM.

Sanders, Gabbard, and Warren are all threats.

Sanders and his team believes Warren is a threat. Sarandons attack proved that.

But if she is still a threat to win still by next year, you can bet she will be targeted, in subtle ways, to make sure she doesn't win.

She is a threat now and will be a bigger threat next year to Sanders.

I took on giant banks and I beat them. I took on Wall Street, and CEOs, and their lobbyists and their lawyers, and I beat them. I took on a popular Republican incumbent senator, and I beat him. I remember when people said Barack Obama couldn’t get elected. Shoot, I remember when people said Donald Trump couldn’t get elected.

But here’s where we are. I get it. There is a lot at stake, and people are scared. But we can’t choose a candidate we don’t believe in just because we’re too scared to do anything else. And we can’t ask other people to vote for a candidate we don’t believe in. Democrats win when we figure out what is right and we get out there and fight for it. I am not afraid, and for Democrats to win, you can’t be afraid either.

The message was clever: She played to voters’ desire to vote for a candidate they believe in, while insinuating that she was that candidate. Warren also managed to get more speaking time than any other candidate, narrowly edging out Sanders.

Since the debate lineups were announced, there had been speculation about how Warren and Sanders, who share a broadly common set of policies (though not the same approach to politics), would interact, and about whether the candidates would attack each other or join forces. Warren’s answer was to outflank Sanders without ever needing to attack him head-on.

https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2019/07/elizabeth-warren-i-am-not-afraid-democratic-debate/595135/

She is not just talk. She is action. She has achieved more than most politicians in their life times. Fact it is not the 'evil' DNC that fears her. It is the Sanders Campaign.

She does not just talk the talk...she walks the walk and her record of achievements proves that to be true.

Warren, my Senator, is bright, charismatic, energetic and a positive force that this country needs right now.

I have posted them here before.

Of course Warren is a threat to Sanders. And Sanders is a threat to Warren. Like every candidate is a threat to the other's chances to win. Goes without saying.

That is not the kind of threat I am talking about. I'm sure you are smart enough to get that. Both Warren and Sanders are the biggest threat to excessive corporate power in the country, with their proposals. And if Sanders dives, they will double their focus on Warren.

I saw a statistic which frankly floored me. I'm sorry I don't have the link now. But on it, Sander's voters second choice was Warren. Yet Sanders was not the second choice for Warren supporters, not even the third choice. I don't get it. Isn't policy...what a Presidential candidate will do for you...the most important? Shouldn't that "trump" any other reason, gender included? Like Sarah Silverman stated, she was for Hillary but something better came along for her, even though in the end she campaigned for Hillary once it was decided.

But as someone who admires Sanders, and what he has been fighting for for decades, I'd be just as happy with Warren. Because its what they stand for, not their race, age, or gender. I frankly wish she had run last time.

And I'm under no delusions that both Warren and Sanders will both be targeted hard by corporate players, at least those greedy ones like the Koch Brothers, as this plays out. I think Warren is tougher for them, because she is liked so much, and BECAUSE she was a Republican. It gives her more credit. She is very prepared.

Where he lost me was how he behaved in 2016 when it was clear he wasn’t going to be the nominee.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

And.. Everyone is "rational".. just because you accuse us of not being "rational" doesn't mean it's so.

49. Sanders wants to keep it out there that the "corporate media" hates him.

He wants us to think that he is the only truly progressive candidate threatening the status quo, that the other candidates are on the side of "Them" and are just as corrupt.

Same way he takes another candidate's plan and exaggerates it to make himself look more progressive. Take someone's student debt plan and turn it into cancelling all student debt. Now with his climate plan. Every time. Then he and his surrogates can insinuate the other candidates are corporatists beholden to Wall St. and former Republicans or whatever.

Joe Biden
