I suspect this is the only way you survive these campaigns: a strong sense of humor. For most voters this is a very appealing personality trait and shows Biden's perspective: concentrate on the important stuff, shrug off the barrage of petty criticisms.

It's why people love Joe Biden. He takes it in stride.

And I really appreciate his ability to pull off self deprecating humor. But comparing your candidate to Trump does not help, the bar needs to be much higher among Democrats.
