3. Forcing millions of Americans to give up their guns for paltry compensation...

...is a bad idea.

Do people realize that forced buybacks is actually a more extreme reaction to how we handled machine guns?

4. Gunners bought the rifles -- many as lethal "investments." Let them eat the loss, just like any

investment gone bad.

Christ, not only have gunners expected the country to coddle them while their sick hobby kills people, now they want to profit off the damn things.

I'll support paying something, just to speed up getting them off the streets, but I'd prefer to just say "tough, get caught with one not turned in and pay a big assed fine, with possible imprisonment, and loss of all gunz, including 6 shooters."

Gunners never cease to amaze me.

and the gun humpers were gleefully exploring ways they could cheat the government with such a program.

6. Voluntary buybacks are routinely ripped off in the US

Most local buybacks off gift cards for any gun functional or non functional, no questions asked. Its common for people to throw together a pipe and some wood and call it a shotgun. Or turn in $30 dollar bb guns for $100 dollar gift cards. I know of the ones that happen around me, some cities have quit doing them because not only are they basically buying back junk, some gun owners will wait outside of the buy back location and ask everyone what they are bringing in. If it something they like, they will offer cash instead of the gift cards or whatever was being offered originally.

11. Looks like a lot of real guns and only one wood and pipe gun. But who is to say that didn't fire?

When I was growing up in a tough neighborhood in Brooklyn back in the 1950s, there were a lot of hand-made guns that were just as lethal as manufactured guns. We called them zip guns.
