Biden Still Plans On Attending Fundraiser Hosted By Gas Company Exec

Biden Still Plans On Attending Fundraiser Hosted By Gas Company Exec

https://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/biden-still-attending-fundraiser-gas-executive

“Well, I didn’t realize he does that,” the former vice president said. “I was told–if you look at the SEC filings, he’s not listed as one of those executives.”

Biden declared near the end of the town hall that if Goldman turned out to be involved in Western’s operations, the candidate would not “in any way accept his help.”

According to his campaign schedule, Biden hasn’t cancelled his plans to attend Goldman’s event.

During the discussion, Cooper said that Goldman didn’t have day-to-day responsibilities at Western. However, Splinter found company filings dated last year that listed Goldman as one of Western’s executives and a “long-term investor in the liquefied natural gas sector.”

Meanwhile, Splinter bothered to look up a filing from 2018 saying the guy is in fact an active manager in the business- unless they lied on the filing.

Yeah, yeah, I’m sure he quit last week so that makes it better. He’s still listed on the website as part of “the leadership”

Western is managed by a seasoned team of executives experienced in the LNG and related energy infrastructure industries.
Western's co-founder is Andrew Goldman, Chief Investment Officer of Hildred Capital Partners. He is a long-term investor in the liquefied natural gas sector.
The other members of Western’s management team include Michael Mellen and Brian Kerrigan.

on the wrong side of some issue, do we think our guy will be somehow corrupted by the association? Or is supporting something we don't like.

It is a complicated world out there, and there is always the possibility that our guy can influence, at least a little bit, that person on the other side.

Why the automatic bad faith, certainty that everyone is instantly corrupted. A simplistic, cynical view of the world. And ignorant.

Is an organic farm coordinating with Walmart to get them to stock more organic products corrupt by association? A politician was once on the board of Walmart and these types of people took it as proof of being corrupt and bad. A little research and you found out that she pushed for more women in management and set up an environmental program to recycle motor oil and batteries, reduce packaging, open an eco-store that was widely copied across the industry, and Walmart set up a corporate tax program financing a major education overhaul in that state. But corrupt by association!

This doesn't show any dedication to protection of our planet. It shows an old boys club, where his Senate senior aide, and 2008 presidential aide, is being shown dedication. Period.
