Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumJoshua Johnson on MSNBC minutes ago compared Biden to Robert Downey Jr. in the Avengers films
He used the word "bankable" to describe how Democratic leaders see Biden.
Which is entertainment-industry jargon for someone certain to bring success. (Editing to add that Johnson was talking about Downey the bankable film star, not the character he plays. I'm adding this because I'm already seeing on Twitter -- predictably -- that some people just don't understand the point Johnson was making. Sigh.)
I'll try to find the exact quote or a video clip later.
But the point Johnson was making was that Democratic leaders consider Biden most likely to beat Trump.
And Johnson said that "heads will roll" at the DNC if we lose the election next year, which is why they want a candidate they're pretty sure can win.
Chris Hayes was taking exception to this, of course, since he's been consistently critical of Biden.

(8,144 posts)do with Bidens town hall and/or late night appearance, which compelled him to say Joe ought
to just read the TelePrompTer and get the heck outlike Trump or Obama would dostop wandering into crowds, and that his aides better get him to tighten up. Of course his guest agreed and took it from there.
I guess he was feeding off of some latest media-spun critique. I mention this morning to show yet another MSNBC anti-Biden bitch session in the wake of two strong appearances,
Are these folks genuinely frustrated with Biden or just angry (for some reason) that a number of voters, and possibly some Dem leaders, do see Biden as having the best shot?
Hes not a fun story for them. The day after Harris killed it with Joe, Bambi Chris Jensen, usually
pretty cool, was downright rude and dismissive with the one Biden camp member interviewed. I mean if looks could kill...
It is good to hear that Dem leaders might entertain Biden as bankable. Why NOT? He is the most
job-specific qualified, experienced, and knowledgeable candidate running, has been an all around terrific public servant, plus delivers a profound message and possesses a gift to connect emotionally with average folks.
What a defender of civil rights for women, POC, GBLT community!
And likable. Appeals to the widest swath of voters.
Bankable. That reminds me...small bank here, so I must be enthusiastic.
