(11,631 posts)Last week he compared her to George McGovern and this week he said some nonsense about how liberals in Britain could get a new vote on Brexit if they didn't have a leader like Elizabeth Warren who divided people... that's when I turned him off before I got a chance to see him give a platform to another right wing douchebag Walsh.
Fuck Bill Maher.

(11,631 posts)He didn't say new Brexit vote. I have no idea why I confused the issue of the vote. What he did say prior to the quote you gave is the Boris Johnson wants a new election and if he gets it "he might win because Jeremy Corbyn is Bernie Sanders times ten." Then he used this to launch into his critique of how Warren conflated centrism and promised "a bunch of free shit." The corbyn/Sanders line was clearly a setup for his attack on Warren that he's been spouting for weeks.
Also while Obama's legacy may be that of a centrist, he did not run as a centrist I would argue. He ran with a inspirational vision that captured the country... completely the opposite of a pragmatic message which seems almost entirely focused on "but I have the best chance to win."

(7,277 posts)He did not choose to have Lehmann go under the Wall Street melt down in September 2008. When the house is burning down, your options are limited. He did not choose to have Mitch McConnell block everything from January 2010 when Scot Brown was elected. What he did choose was to appoint Eric Holder.
