Biden supporters would love Morning Joe today

Joe & Mika are all in for Biden, saying only JB is moderate and likeable enough to beat Trump... unlike Warren, who has crazy progressive ideas and can't win over Trump supporters.

Personally, I found their reasoning totally bogus and unfair to Warren.
But they pretty much crowned JB as the only hope of the Dems.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Lots and lots but saying that the front runner has the best chance of beating Orange Hitler isn't one of those faults. Nor can I fault them for finding that we are a nation of moderates.

and sincere populist message strikes a real chord in stark contrast to that proven a contrived exploitative tactic from Trump. Biden similarly strikes a chord with these same populations. Whether her calls for more decisive change--whether one considers her positions more "liberal" or not-- face a roadblock or not in these settings is not yet clear to me.

We shall see, but I absolutely agree that she is far more effective in these regions than should have been predicted if "fear of liberalism or socialism or whatever label" was the sole factor.

That said, Joe is never going to totally change and his conservatism continues to rub off on Mika. That said, I do think they learned their lesson from their abhorrent role in promoting Trump in 2016. I think their NEVER TRUMP motives are on display this time around, as it certainly should be. Those seeking the 'safest' route to that outcome or the perceived 'safest route' is going to be a challenge for Warren (and others) across the spectrum IMO.

Obama won by 10 million votes in 2008 not least because he ran much stronger in those precincts. Without even looking, I would bet the house that Biden’s head-to-head numbers v. Trump reflect much better polling in wingnutland than Clinton was able to achieve. Your premise is flat wrong, better than expected numbers in red areas have a huge impact on the EC.

I think we need to come right at Trump with a strong populist message, and Warren has been very well received in town halls in places like Elkhart, IN, Kermit, WV, and Chillicothe, OH. She is an extremely authentic messenger on economic fairness and can definitely drive down his margins in deep red areas.

and the special interests shouldn't get to write them; Washington is corrupt, and the insider boondoggle merchants should be shown the door: A message as American as ... well, FDR & Ike.

The American people know from a four-year record that today there is only one entrance to the White House--by the front door. Since March 4, 1933, there has been only one pass-key to the White House. I have carried that key in my pocket. It is there tonight. So long as I am President, it will remain in my pocket.

...despite all the litany of shit that he pulls on a daily basis and the unmitigated embarrassment that is his administration shows that no-one's "winning over Trump supporters." Thanks fox news and talk radio for creating an alternate reality bubble to protect him from that. We have to turn out enough voters from traditionally less likely demographics to beat them, because they aren't going to be voting for Joe Biden or any other Democrat.

We need to crush them and demoralize them and drive them back under their rocks. Converting them to normal, healthy human beings is irrational and unattainable. Demoralizing is only a matter of turning out in force to reject their racism and fascism.

We need people who voted for Тяцмр last time but are appalled by him now to either stay home or have someone to vote for on our side. Some of the things that Warren and Sanders have said they’d do scare the shit out of those people and will send them back to the Тяцмр camp. That’s the point they were making. Things like taking away people’s good healthcare for MFA, decriminalizing the border, letting prisoners vote and the like are not winners for us. Those are the kind of things that will give that asshole a forty state landslide. America isn’t a particularly bright country overall.

This isn’t a radical change election, this is a restore normality election. The sooner we realize this, the better it will be for us. That’s what they’re saying.

I agree with everything they said.

Just a few days ago, I posted on DU that I believed the never-trump contingent is pleading with us to nominate Biden so that they will have a viable alternative. I know among the liberal talking head elites they believe we only need the same voters we got in 2018 to win. However, our party has lost party ID advantage since 2018. So how does that work?

She is an educator, perfect for an era of needing to oppose “dumbing down”. But people hate to be told they need to be educated, especially if they are dumb-as-a-post Republicans.

Like medicine, often the cure tastes the worst. Or like physical injury, physical therapy is essential, but is painful and some reject it.

Biden doesn’t have that problem, he’s a schmoozer—a world class one.

I love them both.
