seriously. Since they have no track record of accurate reporting and since it is the ONLY poll (out of more than a dozen) that looks nothing like the others, I will say that I am correct in not giving it any credence.

I actually bother to read the methodology of the polls. The GE polls were interactive interviews of samples, the primary polls are automated forms, sent to the same group of people week after week.

Wed Sep 11, 2019, 08:45 PM
Sep 2019

30% seems to be VP Biden's floor, but what if his ceiling is only 40%? I can imagine that he'd pick up some support from those who backed Sen. Klobuchar and Mayor Buttigieg, and maybe a stray point or two from Bullock, Delaney, etc. but I see supporters of other candidates such as Sens. Booker and Harris going to either Sens. Sanders or Warren.

The nightmare scenario is where we come to the convention with 40% for Biden, and about 30% each for Sanders and Warren. In other words, 60% wanting a revolutionary Democratic candidate, and then the decision for the superdelgates is "do we push Joe Biden over the top, and risk pissing off that 60%?"

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

nominating the governing philosophy that didn't get the most votes/delegates? It's especially compelling on the "votes" part of it, as Joe Biden is liable to pick up delegates in every state in the Union, whereas it is very likely that Sens. Warren and Sanders are going to pick up votes in states where they don't get delegates because of the 15% rule.

What if we get to a point where the combined delegate totals for Warren/Sanders are 60%, but the combined vote totals (in the primary states) work out to somewhat more than that? What if the two of them offer a unity ticket, where Sanders gets to be President for four years, after which he leaves the job, leaving VP Warren to be the standard bearer in 2024 and 2028?

The superdelegates are going to have to think long and hard about their choices, should the math work out that way.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
