He has basically zero chance to win the nomination, and this will be a BIG strike against for the VP slot with the risk-adverse Biden. It will alienate him with the very group of voters (Midwest swing mods and cons, lunch bucket blue collar and rural whites) that Joe is basing a large part of his candidacy off of.

Yes, that's deceitful, but everyone know or should know Democrats are all trying to stop all the shootings. Some voters may be attracted to vote for a Democrat, but when they hear "I'm going to take your gun!" they drop their dem. support instantly. I think that statement should remain a silent support.

There wasn’t any and it wasn’t the end of freedom or the Second Amendment. That’s paranoia talking. We’ve done it before, we can do it again. Great T-shirt, by the way.

Unfortunately, America will reject that message and send Beto back to Texas alone.

Progress can be made, but that message won’t fly.

dems are notoriously bad at marketing.
Better marketing would be to start with: hell yes, we will protect your right to bear arms; and hell yes we will protect your lives by taking away weapons of mass destruction from civilians.

As some analysts were saying tonight, the gun debate is changing. White women in the suburbs who might vote Dem aren't going to be deterred from voting Dem because Beto (or others) support taking away weapons of war.

Although, I guess if someone really wanted to get a guaranteed rise out of just about anyone they encountered on the streets regardless of their political affiliation, not to mention just flat out confuse the bejesus out of one and all, they could wear both.

That would actually be kinda funny to see. Talk about sending mixed messages.
