Julián Castro repeatedly attacked Joe Biden, but was wrong in debate’s most viral moment

While the moment quickly went viral on social media, the Daily Beast’s Lachlan Markay pointed out that Castro was incorrect — Biden didn’t actually say people would have to opt in to his plan. Instead, he said the exact opposite just a minute before the widely shared exchange.

“Anyone who can’t afford it gets automatically enrolled in the Medicare-type option we have,” Biden said of his plan.

I've aways liked the man from what I'd seen and read. But my son directed me to a couple of articles, none too flattering about his tenure in Newark. And my son really went off on Booker's 'Spartacus' moment.

"A blatant opportunist," he said. "Another PR moment."

So, I don't know. I guess it's something like: will the real Cory Booker please stand up. Or not.

Democrats need to be united and can get their message across without attacking each other. They can also highlight and differentiate themselves without attacking each other. Neither Booker or Castro seem to understand that and in a desperate attempt to say "Look at me" and think that they would magically leap ahead by attacking Biden, they will quickly learn that it has the opposite effect.

Ironically both should have been focused on how they might have a shot at the 2nd position - for VP or in the cabinet of the next Democratic President. But then again maybe they both realize they have other ambitions (such as Booker keeping his Senate seat or Castro running for a Texas office) and so their message was with that in mind.

(Amy Klobuchar in my opinion showed how it is done with class and as a strong democrat and I like her more and more...)

Who knows what was in the minds of Booker and Castro, I can only say "bye bye"....
