Unfortunately people are tearing into every single word that Biden has said over the last 40 years while other candidates are getting a pass on some of these issues (age, health, civil rights, etc.)

I'm worried about all the intelligent people here, of all races, who fall so easily to encouragement to destroy ourselves from within. This indulgence has enormous costs built in.

Join The National Democratic Redistricting Committee
Chaired by former Attorney General Eric Holder, the National Democratic Redistricting Committee is building a targeted, state-by-state strategy that ensures Democrats can fight back and produce fairer maps in the 2021 redistricting process.

Democrats Score Big Win In Wisconsin Supreme Court Race
Dallet picked up endorsements from former Vice President Joe Biden, Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) and former Rep. Gabby Giffords (D-Ariz.), while former Attorney General Eric Holder went to the state to campaign for her.

(7,277 posts)Whatever he is doing out and about, I wish him well.
The Great Recession threw hundreds of millions of their jobs, out of their homes, and cost many everything, even their lives. And it was fraud. Criminal fraud on Wall Street. Subprime mortgages near certain to fail, bundled up with primes, sold off as AAA rated to pension funds, retirement accounts, and collateral for more speculation.
And not a single executive was jailed!
The American people would have been prepared to cop the bailouts if the perps had been brought to justice. Holder, as much as anyone, brought the 2010 midterm disaster onto the Democratic Party.

(10,811 posts)We want a repeat of 2016? This is the fast track to disaster pretending character assassination is vetting. And it's the former that's being done because Joe Biden is the front runner and stands an excellent chance at the nomination. Unless, of course, DUers and other social media platforms think they're better at vetting than say . . . Eric Holder and other members of Barack Obama's team. Or think that President Obama would have awarded Joe Biden with the Medal of Freedom if he thought the man were a closeted racist.
To quote Joe Biden: "Give me a break!"
We saw the same garbage spew in 2016. How did that work out for everyone?

(48,731 posts)provided funding for just that, to help parents with parenting skills. Obama also cited vocabulary deficiencies, as did HRC.
And the comments about Venezuela were Biden's comment on the debate question right before the subject changed to education. It isn't unusual in debates for candidates to refer back to earlier questions if they want to make a point.
What is unusual is the apparent amnesia of many debate watchers and the media, who seem to have forgotten that Venezuela was the previous subject, even though Biden hadn't.

Not unusual and no Venezuela amnesia to me, from start to finish, that JB could not stay on point.

(1,713 posts)Joe has nothing to prove. He's in his 70s, was vetted and picked by Obama. He was a beloved VP and has solid support within the AA community. The problem with launching hit jobs on Joe is that they are ineffective because we know him on an almost personal level. It will only embolden his supporters to defend a very fine man. Policy matters are fair game but these issues of race with Joe ain't going to work folks. Period. Question his politics on issues if you want but any canadate that questions his commentment to civil rights or race, at this point, will be crossed off my list during primary.

They know and trust Biden. Much more than the two most-progressive candidates. Much more than the POC in the race.
That says a lot.
And all too often I've seen criticism of Biden's alleged lack of comprehension focusing on whether his rhetoric is sufficiently "woke" to satisfy people looking for any reason to go after him.
Booker's been trying that line of attack, and it isn't exactly working for him, because Biden's supporters can see through it, and it doesn't seem to be gaining Booker any support even from those not supporting Biden.
