In a Medium post published Monday, the Massachusetts Democrat proposes closing the loophole that allows federal judges to escape investigations for misconduct by stepping down from their post.
In outlining the idea, Warren specifically references a case involving Trumps sister Maryanne Trump-Barry, whose retirement brought an abrupt end to an investigation into her role in various tax schemes of the family and potential fraud therein.
Under my plan, investigations will remain open until their findings are made public and any penalties for misconduct are issued, Warren writes in the post.

(90,202 posts)...missed out, as he somehow failed the family expectations and died, and his family was tossed aside to fend for themselves with a sick kid.
But oh yes indeed, the judge was not exempt from raking in the family's ill-gotten gains, and she knew where it came from.

(39,284 posts)but retired judges arent subjected to conduct rules which is why she quit. Its a bogus loophole and closing it is easily defended. While she was sitting in judgment of other people she was helping her father rip off the government and thousands of tenants whose rents were increased based on the inflated costs of building improvements that were funneled to her shell company.

(82,383 posts)If she committed criminal acts, she would still be investigated. If she stepped down, there's no reason to investigate for the reason of firing her. The relatives do their own thing. I wouldn't doubt she's as deplorable as most Trumps are, but that type of thing can easily be done to us too.

(11,252 posts)The judge may have committed criminal acts, but apparently she will NOT still be investigated. She avoided it by stepping down.
so - your assumptions may be wrong, and Warren is proposing to change things so that they are what you would expect.

(82,383 posts)ignore criminal conduct just because she stepped down. Maybe if it were some sort of plea deal, but who could she turn on? OTOH, they are Trumps, and the authorities under her Dotardess' brother, so it is not impossible.

There are reasons why I would prefer a legislator to be VP and a governor or someone with executive experience to be president, but we don't have that so I'm supporting Warren for president because I like her plans and policies.

(11,438 posts)We are experiencing unprecedented corruption and it will require Dems in the White House and in the majority both houses of Congress before this travesty can be adequately addressed. Kudos to Warren for calling out the rapacious Trump crime family and having an actual plan to address it. They have been receiving a pass on their many crimes for far too long.
