(15,246 posts)Trump's a showman and crowds come for "the show", but Warren's not a showman and her crowds seem to be there for the policy message.

(15,246 posts)Generally policy ideas aren't a big draw. The fact that Warren's getting these crowds with an emphasis on governing/making government work is a big deal. It's kind of remeniscent of the enthusiasm for FDR's New Deal back in the 1930s. IMHO, it shows how big the appetite for real change is.

(31,261 posts)She will ultimately bring things to the point where she force voters to chose between the policy she lays out and the chaos they are dealing with from Trump. In the end, those Surburban moms concerned about their kid's future, but who vote republican, will likely gravitate toward her or leave the "For President" box blank (which benefits Senator Warren).

(31,261 posts)2016 crowds. Senator Warren's crowds are more like Hillary's 2016 crowds, older and families, what appears to be career women (lots of them when you look at pictures).

(15,348 posts)But, based on responses to posts about this elsewhere, especially videos, the GOP-linked Russian troll farms are out early and they are nastier than ever.
They will tear apart ANY Dem candidate. Right now, many are "Hillary-ing" Elizabeth Warren.
This is going to be a LONG and nasty election season.

(1,721 posts)There are so many issues, political, policy, stacking the courts, big money influence, etc., etc., etc., for pretty much all of us, our heads spin trying to keep up. I think many people, in an effort to get a handle on who to vote for, select a single issue, or a personality, or communication style, who knows? In my opinion, single issue voters are extremely dangerous for a democracy. That may be the reason Republicans are so good at winning elections. They win single issue voters. (Then once elected, they make a hell of a mess.)
More and more, Liz seems to be focusing on one particular issue, or message, which I think is a very good idea as a way to "keep it simple". CORRUPTION. Corruption pretty much captures the essence of being a Republican.
I say, keep hammering Republican corruption. Examples are abundant. But, the basic focus, the basic message, the bottom line, is corruption.
Added: For years, going back to Clinton, I have been mystified by strange outcomes in Wash, DC. A high percentage of the population is in favor of something like background checks -- any number of issues, but when Congress votes, the will of the people will have made no difference. I've been a little slow, but it is now pretty clear that it is corruption, also called money in politics, special interests, lobbyists, etc. With the Citizens United decision by the supreme court, and the stacking of the court, even the court is now part of Republican corruption.

(31,261 posts)Trump won by making vague promises. Many Americans bought in to his bullshit. But he know has an administration record that is not good on jobs and healthcare. Senator Warren will be able to run against Trump's record, Hillary didn't have that advantage as it pertains to government.
