Charles Pierce comes to Julian Castro's rescue

Pierce is always entertaining to read, even when I don't agree with him.

Basically, he's arguing that Castro isn't a villain.

And Pierce is no fan of Biden's.

But I'm posting this anyway partly for some details about Castro's policies. He must still have some supporters here, even though at least one poll I posted lately has him at 1%.

And I'm posting this because I loved the last paragraph, especially the second sentence there.

It is now cliché—and undeniably true—that everybody running for the Democratic nomination would be a better president than the president* we have now. The same probably can be said of his three Republican challengers, and, for that matter, all the furry woodland creatures presently gamboling through the meadows, and most of the lawn furniture you're putting away for the winter. There are no real villains here. Just presidents we haven't met.

I would definitely vote for my lawn furniture over Trump. Especially the wrought iron table with matching chairs. Much more gravitas.

And probably a higher IQ.
