It has worked since the Harrison Act of 1913, (where it began, prior to the change in nomenclature) to do exactly what it was meant to do which is about several, ulterior motives that were not publicly stated and I won't go into here, but it is easy to research.

In a land of freedom, it was a real coup for individual rights and brought us the victimless crime as well.

Of course, the propaganda behind the relentless war on "some" drugs was so good and people were so misinformed that it managed to continue for decades now. The control, convenience, profit, incarceration, corporate benefits, etc., were only some of the benefits of it. Freedom? Sure.

big intrusive government and police state on steroids, not to mention mass incarceration

while all but ignoring root causes of addiction and substance abuse

and, yes, cannabis should have never been banned in the first place. it absolutely needs to be de-scheduled and legalized for all adults

6. The profiteers for nearly a century

Should be made to pay for the damage. Private prisons, over hyped law enforcement agencies and the suppliers of their paraphernalia, elected people from top to bottom, recovery programs, drug companies, etal. need to be called out and made accountable for the damage. To this day people are dying around the world thanks to our war culture war on people who are not white christian brain washed zombies.
Presently, for the most part, the legal mega drug industry is profiteering from dangerous highly addictive drugs that are costing tax paying Americans billions in medical and subsequent criminal problems.
We need to wake up from this night mare and hold those accountable to the iron.

our leaders in DC have turned the distribution over to the legal mega drug industry. They saw the profits and have been glad to produce dozens of highly addictive drugs for a profit.

For decades, they recognized that cannabis could meet so many medical needs, but — and this is the crucial part — weed wasn’t contributing to their bottom-line.

A centuries old, tried and true remedy for numerous conditions was not only discredited, but also criminally prohibited due to paranoia 80 years ago.

Meanwhile, they conspired to unleash deadly opioids on the American populace because it was habit-forming and therefore profitable. The fact that so many patients would die was inconsequential. Plenty of others to pay top dollar to them for pain relief, etc.

Weed dealers are an easy scapegoat. Who knew that they were not-so-evil as the law enforcement and commercial prison operators would have us believe?

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
