a minority, nonetheless. Biden’s policies include rolling back the tax giveaways. If we have both a Democratic senate and house, you will still not see progressive taxation and investment policies realized in their entirety.

Do they support the US Constitution? Then that would make them progressive.

Do they support women, minorities, the LGBTQ community having equal rights? Then that would make them progressive.

Do they believe their children deserve clean air and water? Then that would make them believers in progress too.

If they don't support any of those things then they are Republicans.

Or are you merely concerned about style? Surely you are deeper than that. Our country is falling apart, suffering from mass shootings, grotesque income inequality, working overtime beyond the 8 hours per day we once enjoyed, and the president is breaking one law after another.

It's become a matter of just trying to maintain stability and law and order —and the people shouting the loudest, the people who actually CARE about having a stable, clean, sane society of laws, are the so-called "progressives."

They are actually proud traditional Americans and you dare to denigrate them?

for what you are for, and appalled by what appalls you. I simply contended that it may be difficult if not impossible to get the investment plans those who identify as economic policy progressives endorse and the taxation policies to pay for them. Period. You can disagree of course. Then we simply disagree on how feasible these plans—in their entirety—are both in terms of political will and actual budget. I understand you to say the consensus is there among the American people.

Fair enough. I think both of us could argue. But let’s not need abuse as you point out, we have a common enemy and cause, whatever policy differences and rationales for endorsing one agenda over the other.

The cost of not pushing HARD for change is slipping back even further into criminal cops and white supremacists KILLING good Americans. The price of doing half measures is to not meet the 1.5f increase in avg. world temperature and setting up a chain reaction in about 10 years where climate changes will race ahead of any damn moderate position you might think is so dandy.

I like Biden. I think he has potential. Please educate him. He's not keeping up and we need all the leadership we can get. I'll vote for any Democrat in 20/20 but I cannot tolerate complacency. I have a son who will inherit this gradual slide into oligarchy and environmental devastation.

Democrats need to STOP IT.

Do not advance GOPuke propaganda. Do not help them push their agenda.

When they ask "How will we pay for it" answer with this question: "Where was your deep concern when Repukes passed their latest $1 TRILLION DOLLAR tax cut?"

Uh. No. That's what's called a valid question. No responsible citizen should accept any promise made by any politician without that politician at least giving some broad sketches of what exactly the proposal is and how it's to be funded.

I pay taxes. I care how they're spent. You can't disabuse me of that right by hurling the "RW talking point" defense.

When there are equal howls of protest at each and every billionaire giveaway then I will acquiesce to the legitimacy of the question.

Until then it is a rightwing talking point straight from their "Two Santas" strategy. Whether you say so or not.

We are idiots to support their propaganda efforts.

Just rolling back the Trump and Bush tax cuts and reinstating the State and local tax deductions will increase after tax income by 5% on the average for people making 250K and below. The tax increases will be in the upper brackets back to where they were before the Bush tax cuts.
