If a major corporation CEO told them to write something or air something or they would spend ad dollars elsewhere, guess what happens?

You never saw much of the BP oil spill victims after the first 6 months, why was that?

How about documentaries of the spill, BP bought them all before distribution.

If the oil companies, the tech industry, or Wall Street doesn't like something they have the clout to have the stories altered or killed.

When Walter Cronkite was the CBS anchor the news division was separate from the advertising side of the business. That has not been the case since Cronkite left.

They've had plenty of practice. Their penchant for putting lies up next to truths and then rhetorically asking "well which is it" instead of just telling the fucking truth is well established.

And if I'm handicapping this one, their primary motive being profit, they're looking for a horse race. Either then feel they need to bloody Biden to tighten a potential head-to-head against Trump, or they figure Elizabeth Warren will make for both a tighter race with a candidate they like better who would draw more interesting contrasts with Trump.

If you've spent your adult life watching and reading hundreds of hours of political reporting and punditry it honestly isn't that difficult to spot. It's why I expect a competitive race no matter what. People don't tune in for every twist and turn and late-breaking poll for expected landslides.

primary today, I would vote for:

watch............. if Warren gets up by 10 points, suddenly the times will start running "Pocahontas" articles again. Ater drumpf blows the whistle for them to start of course.

Seeing this article makes me so mad. I wouldn't be surprised at this point if drumof himself was the "whistleblower" just so he could get the media to start running stories on this bullshit!

That seems about where they want to be.

Now certain media outlets — FOX is a good example — are clearly biased.

On this particular issue, trump’s treason is clearly a crime. But there was no way Biden was going to escape getting drawn into this. Wish either Biden’s son had not pursued a fortune, or VP Biden hadn’t been involved in being the point man pressuring Ukraine to do what numerous countries wanted. I think Biden is handling it, but trumpsters will keep hammering him.

But, that in no way absolves trump.

That was when the news was not expected to be a profit generator.

Since these legends of journalism, all that counts now is ratings and $$ signs. Now the "news" doesn't even have to be TRUE.

There are plenty of deep pocket America haters to prop up all these alt news channels, but other than MSNBC to represent (for the most) OUR side, we have no rich democrats willing to invest in counter programming.

Why is that?

18. Former Ukraine prosecutor says Hunter Biden "did not violate anything"
Thu Sep 26, 2019, 02:27 PM
Sep 2019

A former top Ukrainian prosecutor, whose allegations were at the heart of the dirt-digging effort by Rudolph W. Giuliani, said Thursday he believed that Hunter Biden did not run afoul of any laws in Ukraine.

“From the perspective of Ukrainian legislation, he did not violate anything,” former Ukrainian prosecutor general Yuri Lutsenko told The Washington Post in his first interview since the disclosure of a whistleblower complaint alleging pressure by President Trump on Ukraine’s president, Volodymr Zelensky.

Lutsenko’s comments about Hunter Biden — which echo what he told Bloomberg News in May — were significant, because Trump and his personal attorney Giuliani have sought to stir up suspicions about both Hunter and former vice president Joe Biden’s conduct in Ukraine in recent weeks. Joe Biden is leading Trump in many opinion polls ahead of the 2020 election.

Hunter Biden has denied any wrongdoing, and there is no evidence he was involved in any lawbreaking in his work in Ukraine with the country’s largest private gas company.

You aren't the consumer. You're the product.

If you aren't paying money to run ads, you are a commodity, like a carload of coal or a barrel of oil. You don't have a seat at the table, your ass is on the menu.
