Out of curiosity who did you support in 16 Dem Primaries and who are you now supporting?

I supported Sander but then went wholeheartedly to Hillary against Trump voting for her a month early. Now supporting Warren.

Just want to see who the Sanders and Hillary folks moved to this year. Obviously many Sanders voters will still support him.
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Voted for Hillary, but with great reluctance because I knew she was a terrible candidate, a terrible choice for the party. But to repeat myself, I voted for her.

I was a bit tempted not to fill in the bubble for the President on my ballot, since I live in NM and the state was inevitably going to go for her. However, I did vote for her.

Trust me, I am not even remotely supporting Sanders this year. I sort of doubt very many of his 2016 supporters are still with him. Maybe I'm wrong, but I suspect that those of his who were for him back then support him now. I could be wrong.

Sanders is still my first choice in 2020, but Warren is a close #2. The decision on who to vote for will likely come down to who is further ahead and most likely to get the nomination by the time my state votes, which is later in the primary process.

In 2016, it was clear early on that Sanders didn't have nearly enough support among Black voters, and the race was over by Super Tuesday. Sanders will be done even sooner in 2020. Forget about polls indicating he has a better chance than most. In reality, he has as much chance as those who have already dropped out.

...has the best chance, the 2nd best chance, the 3rd best chance, and so on. But that isn't the case. And not just because we're so far removed from voting (I should also add that early hypothetical match-up polls are also historically misleading--just ask President Dukakis). And not just because a huge percentage of people with a favorite are open to changing their mind. Demographics and the primary schedule (i.e., which states vote when) will have a lot to say about who becomes the nominee.

Plus, with Sanders being the one person in the field who sought the nomination in the most recent primary, we have actual recent election data regarding his prospects. That's worth far more than a poll 4+ months prior to voting (especially given the size of the field--most people aren't going to bother trying to distinguish between 20 candidates they've never heard of, and name recognition continues to rule the roost). What reason would there be to think Sanders is going to do much, much better than last time among Black voters? If he doesn't, he can't win the nomination.

I had no problem with Secretary Clinton generally, I just liked Bernie’s policy positions better and I still think he would have easily won the blue wall states we “lost” in the general. It was an election geared for his type of change. But I was more than happy to vote for Secretary Clinton and I still think she won. She was cheated.

This time is different. This isn’t a radical change election, this is a return to normality election. And so I’m for who I think is the best chance in that scenario, Joe Biden.

I support him now mostly because of the Obama legacy. I believe that he will govern close to Obama’s style.

I will vote for the nominee but I think Sanders should get out- he’s not a Democrat. I think Warren is way too polarizing to the other side.

The other candidates do not have enough support. It is highly unlikely they will receive the eventual nomination.

Sanders is sounding too much like an angry old man. He lacks warmth and likability is important to getting elected. He should drop out and endorse Warren, and perhaps will once his poll numbers continue dropping as more people discover Warren.

Warren is close enough to Sanders on the issues, lacks the baggage of the "socialist" label, connects with voters including those in the midwest and hell, isn't it time we elect a woman since we were robbed of that last time around?

Biden missed his chance. Bernie and his Bernie bros never really helped Hillary after the primaries were over and called the primaries rigged when they didn't win. I have no love for either Bernie or Biden this year.

My ideal ticket is Harris - Warren. Harris has all the qualities I saw in Obama in 08. Ability, idealism, practicallity. Warren would be an excellent Veep with the drive and fight to get the government back on track while wrangling the room full of cats that is the Democratic Party.

I saw Sanders as a gadfly more than a real candidate, and I haven't changed my mind.

I do not want to see Warren, Harrs, et al, as Veep where they will have limited voice and always be subordinate to the President. They are far too valuable as Senators and if they are to be in a new Administration, it should be as cabinet officers where they will have authority to make changes.

Truth be told, I loved what Nader was talking about in 2000, but I'm a Democrat to my bones. Very progressive as far as policy, but with a pragmatic streak.

Just like Warren.

proudly - both in the primaries and the GE in 2016. I still consider her to be MY President.

I have never used that title for 45 and I never will.

In 2020, I was undecided at first as I liked several candidates (still do), then was torn between Warren and Harris. For the past couple months, I have been fully committed to Elizabeth Warren and will remain so unless or until another person is chosen as the Dem nominee. Then I will support the Dem nominee.

But I am convinced that it would be a very big mistake NOT to have Warren as the nominee. That conviction becomes stronger every day.

I switched to Martin O'Malley. After he dropped out I voted for Clinton over Sanders in the primary, but was not thrilled with either, and then I obviously voted for Sec. Clinton in the general. Now, as you can see, I am a Buttigieg supporter, ever since I saw his first CNN Townhall, before he even had declared. If/when Pete drops out (it will not be before the CA primaries, so at least I get to vote for my favourite this time, lol) I will fully support Biden, unless, in the extreme unlike event he has a systemic collapse. I obviously will support whoever our Party nominates in the general.

I fucking HATE Trump and all Rethugs.

If you like Sanders or Warren, you should be screaming about the senate (and volunteering/donating). They won't be able to do the Big Things they want without it. It just won't happen (and maybe not anyway, with moderates in there and such).

2016 - Sanders, because Warren didn't run for president. I did vote early for Hillary in the general because I thought she would make a wonderful president. 2020 Warren again. I think she might be the smartest and most organized person in our country right now. If she's not the smartest, she's probably in the top 5. She's not perfect, but then no one is. She just seems to have a good well thought out answer for many of our problems as a nation.

* I had to add 2012 because I moved back to Florida and I am very excited that I get to voter for Warren again!

Early was for Martin O'Malley (MD Native) then (due to my wife's persuasion) moved to Sanders.....Voted for Clinton of course

2020 -- REALLY want Buttigieg- though I do not think he will survive until KY Primaries.

Wife is still a strong Sanders supporter. We even attended a Lexington Sanders Meetup last week - very excited group of folks. Will campaign for him if Buttigieg fails to gain.
