not a good look.

I am sorry that this speech fell flat, I was hoping that Biden would excoriate Trump, and so did the media. They were waiting for fiery comments from Biden on why impeachment is needed NOW and did not get that.

Huge missed opportunity.

He's not an orator and has never pretended he was; it's not his style. But you don't have to be a so-called orator to be an effective communicator. I thought his speech was exactly what it should have been. And Biden has to tread a little more carefully in choosing his rhetoric than some more rant-inclined candidates because he and his son have been personally dragged into the situation. He can't be seen as even looking like he's pursuing impeachment for personal reasons (although I'm sure the GOP will make that claim).

does not comply with lawful requests. He reminded us that our country, based on “an experiment in self-governing,” is a beacon for others. He reminded us that many have fought and died for our democratic ideals.

He did not, however, make the issue about himself or get all righteous. Struck the right tone.
